To ask if you've ever found a long lasting baking tray

Please help - we go through so many non stick trays. Our 1 year old le creuset ones (bought in the false hope that expense = durability) are on their way out, despite never having seen a metal implement or the dishwasher as per instructions.

YABU give you hope now

YANBU yes, of course they exist, here's my recommendation..

Also - Interested in the enamel ones and whether they scratch with metal implements (I have people using my stuff that are not careful).

Does anyone have aluminium trays? Would they be any good?

Pyrex glass ones here too. They're often on offer on Ocado.

Stoville ones. You can get them in asda and Dunelm. They’re amazing and you can just bung them in the dishwasher.

Came here to say this

I couldn't bear the noise of the glass ones!

cloverleafy · 16/08/2022 20:04

Pyrex

Coffeeonadrip · 16/08/2022 20:08

Pyrex glass ones here too! Ridiculously heavy but take anything including the dishwasher 💪

AnnoyedByAlfieBear · 16/08/2022 20:10

Pyrex glass ones!! They're fabulous!

hedgehogger1 · 16/08/2022 20:10

Got a Pyrex one recently. It's fab :)

IbizaToTheNorfolkBroads · 16/08/2022 20:16

Tala about 6 years old, still going well. Always used with a silicon liner.

faithtrustandpixiedust · 16/08/2022 20:16

We bought a couple of sainsburys own ones about 6 years ago, they get used at least a couple of times a week and still look new. No idea what they were called but they're super heavy.

gogohmm · 16/08/2022 20:17

Lakeland heavy duty lasted 5 years

Hemax1 · 16/08/2022 20:22

Another vote for scoville ones. Used daily, washed in dishwasher for past 2 years and still look as good as new

enjoyingscience · 16/08/2022 20:24

Ha, came here to recommend the Pyrex ones thinking they were a secret only I knew. They are flipping amazing.

FourChimneys · 16/08/2022 20:25

I have some steel ones, about 50 years old, made by a family member training in metalwork. They are obviously without a non stick coating but I occasionally use a silicone sheet.

hollyivysaurus I regularly use a Pyrex bowl which was my great granny's. I didn't know they did baking sheets.

catsnore · 16/08/2022 20:40

My IKEA stainless steel trays are still looking new after about 10 years and regularly go through the dishwasher. Use them all the time!

newtb · 16/08/2022 20:51

De Buyer ones are good, but not cheap.

senua · 16/08/2022 20:53

Silverwood is a brilliant brand of cookware, I have one of their cake tins and that still looks like new (about 10 or 12 years old) and they are completely nonstick.
I have one of their aluminium cake tins that has been going for years (probs at least 15 years). I am very pleased with it.

I also have a Scoville frying pan which has been very good. I tend to abuse it, because I know that it can take it, which is a bit daft really.

I got hold of some big S/H Pyrex baking trays the other day but passed them on to DD, thinking that she would get more use out of them. Perhaps I should ask for them back!Grin

nonevernotever · 16/08/2022 20:54

The best I've ever found are the insanely expensive but actually worth it rangemaster ones. I have two of the enamel ones and one of the nonstick, and they're all still good. The non stick is the best though.

Sleepyteach · 16/08/2022 20:56

How shallow do you need them to be? We are using our cast aluminium roasting trays from M&S for everything now. Husband got them a couple of years ago and they are used daily and still look as good as they did the day they arrived.

bridgetreilly · 16/08/2022 20:57

Mermaid.

Cookerhood · 16/08/2022 20:57

I've had Scoville ones a few months (& the pans) & they still look like new.

Purpleforthewin · 16/08/2022 20:58

I have a couple that have lasted years but I can't recall the make

BewareTheBeardedDragon · 16/08/2022 20:59

Mine are:

IKEA stainless steel - brilliant, can go in dishwasher, be scrubbed when necessary, still like new despite daily use for a year.

Judge - via TK Maxx. Non stick, cannot go in dishwasher, but anything that does stick can be soaked off easily. Lasted 14 years so far.

Unbranded enamel one - possibly came from an oven. Treated as the Judge one it is over 10 years.

Pyrex is also good.

I don't ever believe or expect things to be really non stick, and never buy non-stick now. I line trays with a silicone sheet or baking paper if I need stuff not to stick (like cookies), and preheat tray, then add oil and preheat that, before adding things like wedges etc and because they seal themselves as soon as they hit the hot oil/tray combo they don't really stick much at all.

Changenameobviousreasons · 16/08/2022 21:00

Scoville!! They are fantastic and don't break the bank. I've had mine 3 years and it's still going strong despite being used to death
