To absolutely dread winter

I love this time of year. My kids are so much easier to entertain with paddling pools, trips to beach and picnics. We eat outside and have so much time outdoors. No house to heat so energy bills lower too.
I’m just dreading the winter months where the kids seem to pick up every germ that’s going. It’s dark at 4:30 and I find it so much harder to get up on dark mornings. I have so much more energy in the summer.

Moving to a warmer country is not an option so Any suggestions on how to embrace the winter months! I feel a bit panicky just thinking about the winter months.

Ouch @MrsDThomas I think you hit a nerve Grin

Hardly. That poster came back with a daft comparison about the wonders of owning a dog. It was pointless. I doubt any poster on here envisaged their daft comparison.

Dogs are awesome. Pretty much every owner knows this. Pretty much every owner also knows that the rare weeks/month(s) we get where they are not soaked, coated in mud, etc are to be relished!

I much prefer summer, but at my age I'm not counting the days to anything any more,I will cope and try to enjoy the changing seasons. I get depressed in the long dark days but after the scourge of Covid and the rubbish government and cost of living, it's not going to grind me down.
