Forgive me mumsnet, for I have sinned...

Lighthearted!

My sin: I went to a Wetherspoons whilst on holiday in England. Not once, but twiceBlush The food was great and I have 3 children with very restricted tastes in food. I'm the same so the menu suited us all. I feel bad about going there knowing the mumsnet consensus on the guy who runs Wetherspoons but it met our needs. I am a Catholic and feel like I need to say a few Hail Marys as a result.

What are your mumsnet sins?

LydiaBennetsUglyBonnet · 14/08/2022 01:19

Agree.

Do you think these women they’re telling off like there fucking children are gonna toddle off and self-flagellate on a rock? I imagine @vodkaredbullgirl scrolling this thread phone in one hand and enjoying a drag on a fag in the other

Funny you should say that, I've just rolled 1😱 and its in the house.

MissConductUS · 14/08/2022 01:22

Lalliella · 14/08/2022 01:17

Please will someone tell me why it’s a sin to have a toilet brush???

Because some think they are absolutely crawling with germs.

LifesTooShortToLearnPolish · 14/08/2022 01:23

I hope your DC are there to see it, @vodkaredbullgirl 😉

Hungryharriet · 14/08/2022 01:25

I didn't make my own chicken stock from the left over chicken. I threw it out.

LikeAStar1994 · 14/08/2022 01:31

I wear the same PJ'S for a whole week. Even in Summer! I also wear the same clothes for days on end until they start to smell. It is extremely wasteful and bad for the environment to wash an outfit in the washing machine that you've only worn once.

I'm disgusting (by MN standards) and proud of it!

CallMeBettyBoop · 14/08/2022 01:35

I've left my wet laundry in the machine overnight.

LifesTooShortToLearnPolish · 14/08/2022 01:35

I got stoned with my DDs a few weeks ago.
My 27 YO DD has moved back in for a while. We don’t charge rent and we even feed her.
I’m another hot tub lover, too. Oh and pedigree dog owner!

Hawkins001 · 14/08/2022 01:50

Not exactly a sin, I help recruit for mumsnet mafia.

mathanxiety · 14/08/2022 01:51

I throw balls back to the kids next door who lose them and I don't mind if they hop the fence to retrieve them themselves.

I don't mind BBQ or fire pit smoke.

I keep spare sanpro in the bathroom and a bathroom pedal bin to dispose of it in. I like baby showers and bridal showers, and gift registries, and I don't see anything wrong with giving cash or asking for it for a wedding gift.

I'll never own a dog.

I use a clothes dryer.

And a loo brush.

Aiionwatha · 14/08/2022 02:07

I would never tell anyone to "LTB" (unless they're being abused and need to get out to protect themselves) - I think most marriage issues can be worked on.

I read the Daily Mail and the Telegraph.

I like Americans.

jennyofthenorth · 14/08/2022 02:12

My sin:
I told a customer at work to use the mens loo if she had to pee so bad as the womens was out of order (and waiting on maintaince to fix0

ZuzuSusu · 14/08/2022 02:16

Also American!

I give cash to people experiencing homelessness.

My child has a "unique" name.

I DO buy from Boden (I feel like it's more MN to hate on it!)

I have AC.

Aiionwatha · 14/08/2022 02:22

I also think it's fine to have shared bank accounts as a married couple and there's nothing wrong with being financially dependent on one's spouse. Sharing everything is kind of one of the purposes of marriage.

Motherofalegend · 14/08/2022 02:48

vodkaredbullgirl · 13/08/2022 22:45

Smoke in the house, in front of my kids.

I mean, this is just bad for their health.

Bluesparkled · 14/08/2022 02:50

I like my MIL and am not NC with anyone. Also think my neighbours are perfectly pleasant. I do not want to LTB every time he is a slight twat.
Am a SAHM
I don’t know any narcissists
I quite like a Toby Carvery
I can’t stand dogs
frequently use a tumble dryer
I love carbs
Hardly ever hoover, wash sheets sparingly when it occurs to me and own 3 loo brushes
Don’t enjoy cooking and think beans on toast is an acceptable meal. Possibly even with white bread!
split the bill with minimal fuss
didn’t think Theresa May was all that awful

i’m aghast at the Tea Making Deviant earlier in the thread though 😱

vodkaredbullgirl · 14/08/2022 02:51

Motherofalegend · 14/08/2022 02:48

I mean, this is just bad for their health.

They are 25 and 22 and perfectly healthy.

ilovesooty · 14/08/2022 02:53

I think family time sounds like a punishment.

Foccacia · 14/08/2022 03:43

If you own a dog, your house smells of dog.

DeanStockwelll · 14/08/2022 03:47

I like Wetherspoons it's affordable , fast service and 95% of time food is decent quality and the beer is cheap
I have a toilet brush
My washing it often left on the line for days at a time get darked on and rained on and i dont rewash it.
I have more than just one small Sherry every Christmas

BUT My cardinal sin is been on Mumsnet when I don't have any dc's

BarbaraofSeville · 14/08/2022 04:03

I thought Puerto Pollensa was nothing special and it wouldn't be my first choice when staying in Mallorca.

I think electric cars are not yet practical or affordable for most people.

I will have a poo when I need to even if it's at work or in a public toilet.

I mostly use the front garden not the back for sitting in.

I never make stock from the bones of a chicken.

I almost never eat fruit.

LydiaBennetsUglyBonnet · 14/08/2022 04:06

I don’t hover when using a public toilet

BerryBerryBerryBerry · 14/08/2022 04:13

I don't have any pubes 😀

45hopperbunny · 14/08/2022 04:20

LifesTooShortToLearnPolish · 14/08/2022 01:17

@iamshergar you’re being a bit of a bully! Why are you picking on @vodkaredbullgirl when someone on this thread has said they though Donald Trump was OK?

Literally😂😂

Scrapologist · 14/08/2022 04:20

I have windchimes. Multiple sets, even.

Yes to toilet brushes.

Yes to shared bank accounts in marriage.

Yes to my (non-rescue) dogs on the furniture, including the bed.

I don't see anything wrong with one person in a marriage being employed and the other not, as long as the couple is satisfied.

I don't RTFT (or only very rarely) and sometimes I reply before even reading all the OP's subsequent posts! Blush

pictish · 14/08/2022 04:21

I don’t think 18 is anything like a ‘grown man’ so will not be kicking my son out the moment he does something wrong.
