Not to wear a bra at home with teenage sons?

A genuine question. I don't know if I'm doing what everyone does or scarring them for life!

There me and two teen sons at home. In my own upbringing, I never saw my mother downstairs without being fully dressed, she would never have dreamt of having breakfast in her dressing gown, or watching TV in PJs, for example.

In the hot weather, my standard outfit at home is shorts and a loose t-shirt with no bra. My lounge wear in the evenings is light PJ trousers and a stretch cotton cami.

If it makes a difference, I'm mid 50s, slimish and not big boobed.

They haven't said anything, but then I don't suppose they would.

Do you think your sons will be attracted to you?
Or it’s unacceptable for them to see/realise older women have breasts too?

If your boys haven't said they are uncomfortable with it, then no problems

Even if they are uncomfortable, doesn't mean you wear a bra. They can learn nice and early that their feelings don't determine what women wear.

People wear PJs or "loungewear" all the time at home these days. I wouldn't give this another thought.

My mum wouldn't take the bins out without a full face of make up, literally. We wore shoes in the house all day. Things change.

I've huge knockers and the first thing I do is remove all undergarments. I put a bra on for visitors and their mates.
They couldn't care less they are boobs.

DS1 has just arrived with his GF. Does that mean I need to get dressed?!

I go everywhere without a bra at the minute and I have decent sized boobs. If men can go about topless why do people kick up such a fuss about women

No issue at all. Nipples are nipples. You are in your own home and as a pp said, I am sure your sons are not bothered in any way about their mother's boobs.

I normally always wear a bra (just a crop top style one) when I am with most people. I would put one on if I was you and my DS' girlfriend was coming round. But that's just me. I'm most comfortable like that. You don't have to put one at all. It's your home.

I have the bralet crop top type bras as well. They are so comfy.

Instead of being bralass today I've been walking around in one and a pair of shorts (literally like wearing a sports bra or bikini top)

I even decided my cheap kids paddling pool with its inch of water looked more inviting to lay in that rest my feet in whilst I read earlier.

So went in my my shirts and bra in my garden.

Two teenage boys here and I never wear a bra at home. They come and use the loo while I'm in the bath and come in my room while I'm getting changed. They also walk around in front of me naked and couldn't care less.

I think maybe when there are visitors (especially male visitors), but otherwise no issue with being braless.

Omg this. And they should really be prepared for the utter shocker that women have breasts before they venture out in the world.

I’ve just been sunbathing outside for an hour in just my knickers. No bra OR top 😲. Neither teen DS even noticed.

I am in no way a sexual being to them and they’ve seen boobs before.

It’s off because I really don’t get why bras have become seen as somehow more acceptable than natural breasts under clothes. If anything bras are shaping, give an element of lifting and often are designed to be ‘sexy’.

Bras are the worst things ever. I fling mine off as soon as I am through the front door. I have wore a bikini all day today but to be honest if I was alone or no kids I would have taken the top bit off

Haven't worn one at home since covid. In fact even now when I get home from work, whip it off, throw on a red herring black smock dress. No bra. So comfy.

If anything I think you're doing them a favour! Normalise a woman prioritising her comfort in her own home now and hopefully that will benefit any of their future partners/daughters!
