Compared to some of the outfits at the last wedding I went to it's almost puritan levels of modest! I suppose it depends on the social group and what other people are likely to wear.

KittyEmK · 09/08/2022 17:01

It's gorgeous! Perfect for a summer wedding

whatdodos · 09/08/2022 17:01

I thunk its lovely and fine for a wedding 🥰 I'd get a telling off from my mum if I wore it though 🤣

JinglingHellsBells · 09/08/2022 17:01

IMO, NO.

It's far too revealing and a backless and, presumably, braless dress is not right for a wedding. A holiday or a nightclub maybe, but you will look attention-seeking and totally inappropriate.

Crazykatie · 09/08/2022 17:02

You need to be brave to wear that at a wedding, you are going to get plenty of attention from the men - and plenty of disapproval from the women. Probably OK for evening not for daytime

onanotherday · 09/08/2022 17:04

Fabulous colour and you sound like you think you will rock it, great. However, you are going to a wedding and unless you plan to upstage the bride I would tone it down a bit.

JinglingHellsBells · 09/08/2022 17:04

OP, the BRIDE is centre of attention.

Not you and your body.

I can't imagine how you think it's right for a wedding which is a formal occasion.

Most women wear dresses that are at least knee length, and maybe even a hat (though that's not essential.) No bare backs, boobs or anything else.

WeAllHaveWings · 09/08/2022 17:05

I like the colour and the front, neckline. Not keen on the back, it just looks twisted, off center and kinda of messy wrong.

There are much better dresses out there that you would look amazing in, would draw attention for the right reasons and are more suitable for weddings.

Wheresthebeach · 09/08/2022 17:05

Slit too high I think, and it would mean being braless too so I'd say no for a wedding. However, it's gorgeous!

HoneyFlowers · 09/08/2022 17:07

No it's not formal enough.

sonjadog · 09/08/2022 17:08

I think it is a lovely dress for a party or a special evening out. Somewhere where you want people to pay attention to you. But I agree it is a bit too much for a wedding. I would look for something with a slightly higher back and lower slit. You can do better than this dress, I think.

waltzingparrot · 09/08/2022 17:08

Lovely frock, but I think the key is not to wear anything that would grab the attention away from the bride 😜

HeddaGarbled · 09/08/2022 17:10

It’s the sort of thing a lot of the women wore, bra-less, to the recent Beckhams’ son’s wedding so I can see why someone who’s never been to a real-life wedding before might choose it. I think it’s too sexy and too skimpy, certainly for the sort of wedding I get invited to. I think you need something you can wear a bra under.

FindingANewLifePlan · 09/08/2022 17:11

I don't think it's appropriate for a wedding, sorry!

howdidigethere · 09/08/2022 17:14

There's so many lovely dresses out there that are suitable for weddings which will show off a good figure. This is a bit much as it is very 'look at meeeee'!

SiobhanSharpe · 09/08/2022 17:14

I think it's really nice even with the low back but that was before I saw the slit up to the bum at the rear!
however it's a lovely dress and if you'll be comfortable in it, then go for it. I think i'd take a wrap as well though....

Mummyoflittledragon · 09/08/2022 17:16

Youre not going to a celebrity style wedding, are you? How do the b&g dress? You will only be live to stitch up the slit a smidge as the skirt won’t drape correctly. Plus the back is too much Imo.

Arnaquer · 09/08/2022 17:18

OP is 26 tall and slim. Wear what you like my dear you'll look amazing in whatever you put on!

JinglingHellsBells · 09/08/2022 17:19

The clue is in the backdrop to the image. A beach resort.

Somewhere you'd go on holiday and wear this for a dinner (and even then, eyes would pop!)

Frankly, you'd be a talking point and an embarrassment to yourself and the happy couple.

What's wrong with going braless??

clickychicky · 09/08/2022 17:21

No it looks awful

IaltagDhubh · 09/08/2022 17:21

Most of the threads on here with people asking what everyone thinks of a dress, my reaction is usually ‘good god, that’s fucking hideous’, so my opinion may not be worth much…

I think that’s gorgeous. Lower the slit (to around knee height, rather than buttock height) and stick a blazer over it for the ceremony and the meal. Maybe avoid stilettos and bright orange fake tan.

I wish I’d had the confidence to wear that at 26. Go for it, op, you’ll look great.

What a horrible comment!

I've been to three weddings this year already and plenty of women wore beautiful dresses like this.

Far nicer than the frumpy ones many people often suggest on here.

Errr....look at the dress and use your imagination.

Cam22 · 09/08/2022 17:22

Nope. 😆
