Does tummy look big in this swimsuit?

Name changed for obvious reasons
Need to ask if this swimsuit accentuates stomach or can notice a big belly?/big hips
Some comment today has triggered this and I cant seem to get a straight answer.
I know MNetters are brually honest and would rather hear truth than appeasement.

Does tummy look big in this swimsuit?

Were you expecting nothing but "Oh no, you look just perfect"? Because no plastic surgeon is ever going to say that.

Don't invite that sort of opinion again if it's going to knock your confidence.

Your tummy does look quite big to me, it's definitely rounded, but I think swimming costumes tend to do that.

All I can see is great cleavage!! I think the eyes are kind of drawn to that tbh but you have a lovely figure anyway so nothing to worry about.

  • in LA
Unless you also live in LA and want to compete with her clientele and don’t mind spending the requisite amount of money, I wouldn’t give two shits what she has to say about your figure!

And also, if your tummy/hip area are your most self conscious areas, not only was asking a plastic surgeon if you need anything done a really silly idea, but asking Mumsnet is even sillier.

You say you were 'triggered' by her answer, what makes you think you won't get triggered by some of the answers on here too?

Agree with this.

Also agree that a side figure would probably be the dongle from which one can really tell how well the swimsuit fits.

Honestly I'm saying yes, from that angle the shine on the suit makes you look round on the stomach.
I can tell from the rest of you there's no way that you are, bloody amazing figure, so get out and buy a new suit ASAP that shows how amazing your figure actually is.
Black swimsuits often do that, try a different colour or even some (nice not granny) pattern and have a bit of fun and chill, you look stunning.

I definitely meant it as an offhanded joke...I have that kind of humour plus find it hard to make convo so said this comment in a moment of silence. We actually have nothing in common really but wanted to be the nice Aunty who takes her out and about whilst she's visiting.
I honestly didnt expect she would answer that.
Will take a side view tomorrow sorry only got that one.
Its a brand new costume from cupshe and tbh as I put it on it did feel very snug so perhaps a wrong size choice?!

The reason I asked on here as her comment did upset me so I asked my daughter and my DP who both kind of answered like it was just an automatic "no dont be stupid you look fine"

Asking also because it is a new costume and I have 7 day trial to send stuff back so if it does look like it accentuates the stomach Id rather choose something that doesnt..it was quite expensive. Thanks to all the advice - maybe thos style isnt flattering for my figure xx

You just look curvy (in the non-euphemistic sense) and feminine.

A cosmetic surgeon is going to look at you like a plasterer looks at a wall!

You have a fab figure! Ignore your niece, and never ask a plastic surgeon for their opinion, especially one in training! Keep in mind it's not personal, plastic surgeons look at your body essentially as a piece of meat and what they can do to change it to their ideal shape.

Sometimes I find one piece solid colour swimmers can make me look a bit rounded. I really like for one piece swimmers to have colour or pattern, seems to give more illusion/shape? I also love wearing two pieces, but with a high waste bikini bottom (above my belly button). This seems to be the most flattering cut/style for me.
