Vardy talking to the Sun

Highfivemum · 03/08/2022 16:39

Am I hearing this right that Becky Vardy has done and interview with the sun paper pleading her innocence? Whoever is this ladies PR they need to be sacked. Why would she want anything to do with the papers after all the allegations. ? Surely if innocent you would stay away from talking to them. AIBU in thinking she must be not thinking straight to think doing a Sun article will clear her name.

Given the weight of the evidence and the 4 offers to settle along the way I think it’s highly likely that the solicitors and barristers were very strongly advising against going to trial - but if the client is delusional then they have to accept instructions against their advice

Just seen this being discussed with Nicola MnClean on Jeremy Vine on ch5. Dawn was very soft in questioning Nicola, who was on there to defend both RV and CW, who are her friends. If I was in trouble I'd really like Nicola to be my friend because she's very loyal!
Lots of emphasis on the online trolling, which no one would defend, rather than on the fact that Vardy took this to court, seemingly against the wishes of CW, who's been dropped right in it by Vardy's continual publicity seeking and denial of what the court established as truth.
A cynic might think she's milking the trolling to portray herself as a victim.

Who, exactly, is “buying her story?”

Lol except the Sun, that is.

No one. That's why she needs to knock it on the head. All she's doing is making a further fool out of herself.

Notjustanymum · 04/08/2022 12:05

I have had the misfortune to come into contact with an habitual liar. I think these kind of people do genuinely think that if they sound convincing to themselves, then their lies can be upheld. It’s a shame, really - almost like a mental illness.
She’s not going to convince anyone though - I wish she had someone to advise her against this - if she took it on the chin and confessed, I’d have more sympathy for her, but I guess she’s so far in on this that she feels she can’t get out…

EmeraldShamrock1 · 05/08/2022 00:23

I watched the snippets from the Sun interview.

OMG RV is completely narcissistic playing the victim card throughout the snippets, she hit every nail seeking sympathy.

I can't understand why she didn't shut down her SM.

I feel for her PA.

She railroaded her.

As if Colleen would go for a coffee.

DH must be a doormat for loving her.

Ohnonevermind · 05/08/2022 10:11

I didn’t watch the interview but read she kept throwing barbs ‘Colleen wore the boot for sympathy’, ‘it’s not up to me to comment on the Rooneys marriage’

She looked dreadful in the interview. I’m guessing she’s trying to hold back the years but she looks terrible

i can believe she’s spouting that the judge got it wrong before costs are awarded. What does she think that will achieve. She’s used to being able to railroad people with her nasty attitude but that doesn’t work in a court. I think that’s what shocked her, she’s probably railroaded people all her life, she’s clearly a horrible bully.

i’m not a huge fan of cancel culture or bad language 🤣, but this woman needs to fuck off.

Looking at her I’m reminded of Roald Dahl’s assertion the twits - that a persons looks resemble their personality over time,

Besswess88 · 05/08/2022 10:19

His parents declined to attend the wedding and declined to say why.

She was begged not to take this to court.

She declined 4 attempts by Colleen to settle out of court.

She declined to share court costs.

She says the judge “didn’t understand” the case.

She is now doing an interview with the “newspaper” she denies selling stories too.

I am no lawyer but I would say this all speaks for itself.

chilliesandspices · 05/08/2022 17:41

She says the judge “didn’t understand” the case.

I think this is my favourite part. It was a 7 day trial and she had one of the most experienced QCs in the country. I'm pretty sure he gave the judge everything he could (disappearing evidence and inconsistent testimony permitting) to allow her to apply the law to the facts of the case. I wonder if she'll try to sue her law firm or the QC for professional negligence.

EmeraldShamrock1 · 05/08/2022 18:32

Tbf fillers hasn't done either of them any favours.

I think they make a person look older.

orangeisthenewpuce · 05/08/2022 20:13

It wasn't just Jamie's parents who didn't go to the wedding. His grandmother didn't go either and Becky's mum and step dad didn't attend. Neither of them speak to those parents to this day.

"I can see a divorce on the horizon too."

A divorce would be hilarious.

Wipes about a quarter off his networth with her ridiculous vendetta and then takes half of the remaining 75%

Hopefully he will financial advisors who have stashed his 'running away money' somewhere she can't get her grubby mitts on it and that the cost of her stupid legal fight will be considered to be part of her settlement.
When did the wives etc of footballers become so self important? Most people would not have even known the name of Mrs Moore in '66, and he actually achieved something!

friendlycat · 05/08/2022 23:26

I actually think her best line of this entire fiasco is 😀”the judge didn’t understand the case”.

Wow. Just wow. She gets more delusional by the day.

But I can’t stand these silly soft interviews where the person interviewing just allows the interviewee (RV) to talk without stepping in and quantifying some of the statements made, pointing out facts and evidence that were clearly presented and questioning subsequent statements that bear no resemblance to what has already been proven.

All of this ridiculous posturing by RV post trial makes her look even more foolish than she’s already made herself, but the fact that she’s just been allowed to gibber on without any challenge to what she’s said seems equally as futile.

It’s also hard to believe that anybody wants to pay her to hear future nonsense that she spouts. If I was the judge hearing that I “didn’t understand the case” I would want to show her exactly how much I did understand the case and award CR full legal costs.

EmeraldShamrock1 · 06/08/2022 00:33

@friendlycat I know, very fake.

I'd love to see her do an interview with someone who isn't afraid to ask questions though I imagine RV would never agree with an interview like that.

HeddaGarbled · 06/08/2022 01:26

I know!

Though “Who’s Davy Jones” was good.

ImAvingOops · 06/08/2022 19:21

Agree with a pp that saying the judge didn't understand the case is not the wisest move when costs haven't been decided!
