Vardy talking to the Sun

Highfivemum · 03/08/2022 16:39

Am I hearing this right that Becky Vardy has done and interview with the sun paper pleading her innocence? Whoever is this ladies PR they need to be sacked. Why would she want anything to do with the papers after all the allegations. ? Surely if innocent you would stay away from talking to them. AIBU in thinking she must be not thinking straight to think doing a Sun article will clear her name.

I think she's told so many lies that she actually believes herself now

Typical narcissist- I don't know much about this person but screams narcissistic to me

Justleaveitblankthen · 03/08/2022 19:50

Has The Sun ever commented on who they bought those stories from in the first place? Who's 'account' did they pay the money into? 🤔

They’re never going to disclose that are they. I think In the past papers have even argued against court orders as protecting sources is a massive thing. I never heard about a court order in this case so I assume The Sun weren’t required to disclose

EmeraldShamrock1 · 04/08/2022 08:30

If RV was innocent she'd be shouting for the source reveal.

RV doesn't know her arse from her elbow.

TaraRhu · 04/08/2022 08:33

I think she's getting more sympathetic press coverage than she deserves. At least Colleen has maintained a dignified silence.

DoubleShotEspresso · 04/08/2022 08:42

I'm going to go out on a limb here and say I reckon The Sun interview is going to be as helpful to Vardy as the Emily Maitliss interview was to Prince Andrew...

Pedallleur · 04/08/2022 08:46

She seems to believe the legal system has done her wrong. She brought the case to Court so there would be a winner/loser. Best not to give her the oxygen of publicity but maybe a legal firm are rubbing their hands at her continuing her quest for justice. Prob be a musical. Vardy! A poor woman scorned.

Oblomov22 · 04/08/2022 08:50

It's all so cringeworthy and embarrassing.

LadyDP · 04/08/2022 08:52

Well she'll be telling 'her truth' now won't she. Told it so many times she believes it.
As for Mr Vardy advising her, do you think she takes any notice of him?

Highfivemum · 04/08/2022 08:53

Yes the vile abuse she got following the disclosure by Colleen was bad but I do believe had she just moved on from this without taking Colleen to court it would have been forgotten about years ago. When your in the public eye the down side is you are judged and you will be slated and yes some idiots will take it too far with insults but she didn’t help herself or her children. I really hoped after the result she would go quiet for a bit. Take it on the chin. Accept responsibility and move forward. By not dropping it and talking to the paper she is accused of leaking to is just plan crazy. Colleen has acted in a dignified manner. She tried to avoid court. She has not gloated about the court win and she is moving on despite having things brought up in court that were hugely embarrassing for her and private. It’s not about the court win or lose it is how you handle yourself in victory and defeat. Colleen has won in so many levels.

They have. Revealing a source in this case would be funny but it could get whistle blowers killed if a precedent was set.

ImAvingOops · 04/08/2022 09:01

The threats against her children were absolutely vile and the owners of those accounts should be traced and prosecuted.
But it is difficult to feel that sorry for a person complaining about people saying nasty things, when she too has said very nasty things.

EmeraldShamrock1 · 04/08/2022 09:04

If only she'd been taught how to be dignified like Colleen. 👍

Infinsplititive · 04/08/2022 09:06

She just keeps digging that hole for herself, doesn’t she? Hoist by her own petard.

No excuse for vile messages to her, but ffs turn off your commented/messenger on social media ffs. I dunno, it’s almost as if she wants to be trolled so she can play the victim…

Littleduck80 · 04/08/2022 09:11

Not how she changed from her power dressing and highly finessed styling to a make up free, tatty hair, mum-jean wearing "every day woman" vibe for this interview. Presumably she thinks that will back up her very wishy washy self diagnosed PTSD and claims of suicidal intentions and garner her some sympathy. She's vile and I was really hoping this outcome would make her disappear. Her husband is a pathetic mug too, lets not forget he also hid evidence.

But apparently the judge just "didn't understand what she was looking at" and that's why she lost.

She might continue to win work in the public domain, but not with any respectable organisations.

hewouldwouldnthe · 04/08/2022 09:17

Another narcissist believing her own lies and desperate for esteem boosting attention. She's been proved a liar in court, she brought a damaging legal claim and is co Vincent she can manipulate the narrative and come out smelling of roses. Deluded basically

SecretVictoria · 04/08/2022 09:28

She comes across as absolutely vile. I don’t know how it ever got to court in the first place as Colleen said “It’s RVs account”, not “It’s RV”. Apparently Jamie’s parents haven’t spoken to him since he married her, which says a lot. I could never fathom why RV was in any of those celeb programmes; at least Colleen has done stuff on her own, she is married to a footballer and that’s it.

PutinIsAWarCriminal · 04/08/2022 09:30

She's gone for the wholesome no make up look, probably bare foot too! You aren't fooling anyone, sweetheart! 🤣🤣

Maray1967 · 04/08/2022 09:39

She is completely delusional. There can surely not be many people who believe her story, complete with phone ‘accidentally’ falling into the sea?
No one deserves vile abuse online but people need to understand when their actions have crossed the line, as hers did. Coleen was right to call her out as she would just have denied it if Coleen had phoned her. She sold stuff to the Sun, presumably not because she needs the money but because she wanted to damage other people’s reputations so she could be seen as top WAG.
Somebody needs to tell her to stop this ridiculous performance and do some quiet self reflection.
I hope Coleen and her family are getting some much needed peace and quiet.

orangeisthenewpuce · 04/08/2022 09:43

The Sun went to Court before the trial to ensure they didn't need to disclose anything. Becky Vardy is the gift that keeps on giving. Mr Vardy was on a tag years ago because of a fight so he too has experience of the legal system. Lovely couple.

MouseShoes · 04/08/2022 09:46

She really comes across as the ‘any publicity is good publicity’ type.

BlueThursday · 04/08/2022 09:48

im all for journalists protecting their sources and sadly this means I have to accept the Scum and Vardy should have this protection too

Pedallleur · 04/08/2022 09:50

Always think her husband's infamous chat shit, get banged tweet should be the family motto.

SlothMama · 04/08/2022 10:17

She's vile and will milk this for every penny she possibly can.

I wouldn't at all be surprised to find there is a grimacing PR team behind her shaking their heads because they had warned her against all of this, but she'll do what she wants because she knows best.

Personally, I think the opposite. Haven't followed it much as only superficially interested, but saw some of the interview on TalkTV last night. I think she's been badly advised from day one and the solicitors are rubbing their hands together at the massive fees they're getting.
'Are you going to appeal?'
'That's in the hands of the solicitors'
Er, no, they work for you and do what you tell them.
