Making Sunday dinner today and DH nips to the shop to get something for dessert. A simple task you may think...

So he brings home a bag of goodies and first out is an apple pie, not bad.

What is next? Custard you may think? Cream? Even vanilla ice cream perhaps?

No... it's MINT flavoured ice cream.

Now I don't want to insult the weirdos anyone who enjoys mint ice-cream but with apple pie?! Mint and apple?

Ugh. AIBU to think DH has absolutely failed this assignment?

Update... I went to the shop to get custard for the apple pie and lo and behold, DH wanted that with his rather than his frozen toothpaste monstrosity.

Quite right. Though he could have had both with the pie.

I like porridge (black pepper and maple for me) but adding pesto? That's obscene.

I love savoury porridge, I put all sorts in it. Bouillon is lovely in porridge. I must try pesto one day.

And the best ice cream I've had with apple pie is salted caramel. He should have at least tried the mint though, I reckon it would taste like one of those weird body washes.

My dp panics in these situations he would have got the Apple pie then got posh fresh custard, he likes that, ambrosia for me as I don't like the posh stuff, double cream and vanilla ice cream just incase!

You have the tart and make him have the mint ice cream. Don't send him out again. I'm sure he'll return with mint chocolates and then unfortunately you will have to leave him.

It’s a bit mad so I voted yanbu but tbh I’d probably eat it! My kids would look at him like he’d lost his mind though.
