Making Sunday dinner today and DH nips to the shop to get something for dessert. A simple task you may think...

So he brings home a bag of goodies and first out is an apple pie, not bad.

What is next? Custard you may think? Cream? Even vanilla ice cream perhaps?

No... it's MINT flavoured ice cream.

Now I don't want to insult the weirdos anyone who enjoys mint ice-cream but with apple pie?! Mint and apple?

Ugh. AIBU to think DH has absolutely failed this assignment?

What is his explanation for this monstrosity OP?

RB68 · 24/07/2022 16:23

A good cornish ice cream for apple pie - pie hot ice cream cold

knackeredagain · 24/07/2022 16:23

Get your ducks in a row OP. I thing you need proper legal advice

fourquenelles · 24/07/2022 16:26

But have you tried it OP? The rule in our house when the kids were small was that you could refuse to eat something but you had to try it first. You never know you may find out that it's delicious! Grin Try it and report back please.

Blossomtoes · 24/07/2022 16:26

Mine would have bought chocolate ice cream. What goes on in their heads?

SlouchingTowardsBethlehemAgain · 24/07/2022 16:26

Mint! What a fucking cunt.

Waitrose Turkish delight ice cream is lovely- raspberry ice cream with sweet rose gel rippled through. I ate with fresh red fruits but would be amazing on a warm chocolate something!!

This is all I can think about now.

AhaLyn · 24/07/2022 16:31

Sounds sort of nice 😄

PearlClutch · 24/07/2022 16:35

Samaritans are available 24 hrs, OP

Jolinar · 24/07/2022 16:47

Yeah, exactly the sort of thing my DH would do! He once brought home key lime pie. And custard!

drawacircleroundit · 24/07/2022 16:49

Have you had children with this man?
Is there somewhere you all can stay?

riserved · 24/07/2022 16:50

I'd force it down.

spiderlight · 24/07/2022 16:58

I mean...anything but mint!! Good God.

Mind you, I once caught my DH stirring pesto into his porridge and I didn't LTB, so I can't really say much!

pucelleauxblanchesmains · 24/07/2022 16:59

I would eat that. I'm sorry. I must live my truth.

What! You are married to a monster.

SpottedTailQuoll · 24/07/2022 17:46

Good grief! What next - liquorice mud cake? Where's Mrs. Cropley when we need her?!!

luckylavender · 24/07/2022 17:47

I once stayed in a pub with a restaurant for a birthday and had homemade apple pie for pudding. They served it with Strawberry ice cream. So odd.

ThinWomansBrain · 24/07/2022 18:48

I don't like anything mint flavoured - I even make them change the mouthwash at the dentist.

FunDragon · 24/07/2022 19:21

He’s a pervert. I can guarantee you this is just the tip of the iceberg.

Reported. That's obscene.

Which of the many obscene horrors on this thread do you find amazing, @DigitalGhost ?

<notes username as one to keep an eye on>

ouch321 · 24/07/2022 19:41

Mint ice cream is wrong in itself let alone on a pie.

Debbiejellinksy · 24/07/2022 19:42

Already commented earlier about how mine would do the same, and he's just done it! Haven't even discussed this thread or anything, he clearly thinks suitable accompaniment to bread and butter pudding is mint choc chip ice-cream.... What is going on with them?! 🤨
