You don’t want to hear my Dd splashing around, I don’t want to hear you shagging all day

Invite DD’s friends over and play baby shark on a loop.

he’ll soon shut the doors to have his day time shags.

Baby shark on a loop?
You'd have to REALLY hate him to do that🤣🤣🤣🤣

Kanaloa · 21/07/2022 22:00

@Earlydancing

I would say it should stop around 1.5-2.5. But some children naturally like to scream and need to be told ‘no stop that now.’ I can’t abide by screaming and didn’t allow it specifically because I find it’s horrible. To me it’s similar to kids who run round emptying toy boxes out - not really enjoyment but more frantic/frenzied. I prefer more calm type of playing but I think children need to learn that with support.

Sitbackandunwind · 21/07/2022 22:04

@Earlydancing Omg 🤣

Some people on here like to argue for the sake of it, no one would rather listen to the neighbour having sex than a small child having fun. That would be fucking weird

Sitbackandunwind · 21/07/2022 22:05

@Kanaloa Ok 👍

@EveryFlightBeginsWithAFall That’s what I was thinking

Some miserable posters here, I put that she laughs and shouts with happiness…not that she screeches, screams, shrieks etc…agree all those things are v annoying and things she isn’t allowed to do.
She IS allowed to be a child and have fun though

@Grackl8 I bet you are!

I don’t believe any of the shagging stuff! I do however believe that your kid is a shrieking annoying pain in the arse!

Letterasaurus · 21/07/2022 22:16

Gosh, some very intolerant posters on this thread!

OP, I think it's totally unobjectionable for your daughter to make a noise (yes, even to 'shriek' or 'screech') for a couple of hours on the few occasions in the year when it's hot enough to get the paddling pool out.

On the other hand I think it's highly antisocial for your neighbours to subject you to their mating cries at any time, but most particularly when your daughter is playing outside.

Earlydancing · 21/07/2022 22:21

Oh,@Kanaloa , we're well past 2.5. TBF, the eldest one seems to have stopped - at least I haven't heard him this year. It could be because he's in some sort of borstal because he seemed intent on inflicting serious physical harm on the other two. So it's chicken and egg, really. Did the screaming start because he was trying to kill them, or was he trying to kill them because they were screaming? It's unclear to me.

Anyway, they seem unable to talk to someone just two feet away. Everything has to be shouted and shrieked. Do you think a kind neighbourly shout from a window of "shut the fuck up" would be helpful? I want to stay friends with my lovely neighbours but the school holidays are here and my last nerve is a mere thread.

I mean you could try shrieking back but louder? Assert shrieking dominance.

Sitbackandunwind · 21/07/2022 22:27

@Grackl8 Nice way to speak of a 4 year old little girl 👍

Butchyrestingface · 21/07/2022 22:29

Tell him you have to get the wean to make so much noise to drown out the sound of their coitus.

NellesVilla · 21/07/2022 22:31

@Grackl8, your initials aren’t SG are they? You sound just like a close friend of mine, with v similar views to me! Whenever we (rarely) go to a restaurant, we take turns in asking the wait staff to move us if they are any annoying shrill/shrieking/crying children nearby!!

<Baboon-like shagger neighbour has joined the chat>

roarfeckingroarr · 21/07/2022 22:33

I feel so, so lucky that my toddler is not a shrieker. He giggles and chats but has never made that awful shrieking screamy noise. No doubt his brother or sister will make up for it when they arrive.

Palamon · 21/07/2022 22:33

'Splashing' - not annoying. 'Shouting' or for that matter squealing/shrieking - extremely annoying after about 10 minutes.

AsIfIWish · 21/07/2022 22:33

@Earlydancing My kids are 12 and 10 and I spend my life having to tell them to stop shouting!! 🙄

EveryFlightBeginsWithAFall · 21/07/2022 22:34

I've found those that are the most intolerant of other neighbours normal day to day noise are right noisy bastards themselves , they never seem to tire of their own bloody loud opinionated voices though

Luckily the noisy intolerant fucker at the back of our house hasn't subjected us to her sex noises yet

Sitbackandunwind · 21/07/2022 22:36

@Butchyrestingface 🤣 I did wonder

OP posts:
Cameleongirl · 21/07/2022 22:44

I would MUCH rather hear a happy child playing than sex noises.

I’ve heard both from various neighbors and I enjoy hearing the toddler two doors down in his garden, a happy child is a joy, IMO. Next door moaning is something else. 😂

Itsokay2020 · 21/07/2022 22:47

@Earlydancing my neighbours kids are Year 7 and 9 (yep!!) and still shriek like three year olds… but it’s more the ‘look at us’ type, and parents lovingly play along with it! One day the amateur dramatics will wear off, along with the general ‘drama’, until then my AirPods are a godsend and I thank my lucky stars that my similar aged child doesn’t behave in such a manner 😊
