I've been on two good dates with a guy.
Yesterday was his day off and today
He sent me pics of him sunbathing in his garden.
Then said he was off to York (we are from Newcastle)
Within 45 minutes he sent me a pic of him in a pub in York ...only thing was in this picture he had a big coat on
I thought it's 30 degrees and your wearing that.
Then later in the day he sent videos of the pub etc ..and I noticed everyone was dressed in more warmer clothes (coats, hats etc )
He was obviously sending me videos /pics from months ago pretending to be there...
Then a few hours later he sent me a pic of his legs sunburnt in his back garden (but he was apparently wearing jeans in York )

This is odd isn't it?

Text him "why the hell are you wearing a coat in 30 degree heat 😂😂". Try and make it sound jokey and see what he comes back with. Let us know please!

KylieCharlene · 19/07/2022 23:33

I'd personally have a bit of fun and help him dig himself into a bigger hole asking him questions about the pubs he was in and about his afternoon, listening to him tell more lies and then I'd casually ask how he got to York so quickly and why everyone was wearing winter clothes.
I'd choose to do this in a phone call so I'd get the full squirm factor rather than by messaging.
Or you could save your time and block him- but where's the fun in that?

WinterMusings · 19/07/2022 23:34

I'd just reply

'i didn't come down in the last rain shower you idiot'

then ignore ignore ignore.

NotSoSlimShady8 · 19/07/2022 23:36

@KylieCharlene

ooooooo yes this! Do this!

Merryoldgoat · 19/07/2022 23:36

It wouldn’t give me the ick - it would make me think he’s a liar and pretty stupid.

Both of which are big to dump him.

Merryoldgoat · 19/07/2022 23:36

Big REASONS to dump him

andlle · 19/07/2022 23:16

He is always putting pics on his Instagram of pints of lager and pubs etc
Makes me now think I wonder how many times he was actually there or just sat in his house pretending

Haha imagine that

It doesn't give me the 'ick' persè but I'm definitely embarrassed for the fool. And I think if I was you I would either confront or back out the relationship

RogueV · 19/07/2022 23:38

Yes would give me the ick I mean he must think you’re thick!

cringe 🥴

Blowthemandown · 19/07/2022 23:39

@andlle just message back saying ‘you are funny sending me winter pics while it’s 35 degrees’ and ‘haha you had jeans on in the first pic, where’s the tan line, are you bored or just checking my observation skills?’ See what he says.

AtrociousCircumstance · 19/07/2022 23:39

Boring and weird. What a catch.

Kiitos · 19/07/2022 23:40

I was in York today. It hit 40 degrees and the streets where I was were almost deserted. It was surreal. A lot of shops and cafes closed early presumably due to a lack of trade.
I didn’t see anyone in a coat either.
I think you should block and ignore. But to be honest if I was you I’d try and draw the lie out just for fun (I know I shouldn’t but still). I’d ask him “were those really taken today?” And “how did you get to York so quickly?” And details of what pub he was in. Then block 🤣🤣

Bentoforthehorde · 19/07/2022 23:53

I live in York and I can tell you nobody was wearing hats and coats today, the heat was unreal.
Also, (unless it was a really fancy place) if there were no topless blokes in the photos he definitely wasn't here 😆 sun comes out, tops come off 🤣

dustofneptune · 19/07/2022 23:53

I’d for real text him and say, “Since you know how to teleport to York and travel back in time to winter, can you also take me back to my 20s?”

CharlieLo · 20/07/2022 00:00

I dated someone like this briefly and when I cottoned on it def just put me right off, very ick! I had fun for a little bit though casually asking for photo proof of what he said he was doing (but I suspected he was lying) and it was funny to see him try and squirm out of why he couldn’t.

😂🤣

Summerfun54321 · 20/07/2022 00:12

Was it a joke? I just don’t understand how someone could think you would be so stupid to believe that! It makes no sense at all posting pictures with coats and hats on and pretending he’s in a heat wave!

SirenSays · 20/07/2022 00:13

The only people I know who lie like this tend to lie about everything and they're usually very insecure.

Summerfun54321 · 20/07/2022 00:13

I wonder if he’s having a day out with his wife and kids and this is from his stock collection of pics and videos to send his other women!

Rodion · 20/07/2022 00:19

People who routinely lie about triviata like this should be avoided like the plague as it demonstrates they just don't value normal openness and honesty.

If you question it I bet he claims he was testing to see if you'd notice the coats and you passed, or he was just messing around cos hes bored, or some other bs.

I'd give him a wide berth.

StClare101 · 20/07/2022 00:20

“Gosh it looks cold in York today. How odd.”

Then block.

Macaroni1924 · 20/07/2022 00:21

Very bizarre behaviour. Why would he lie though? Did he have something else on that he didn’t want to share? I’d need to know out of pure nosiness 🤣

onmobile · 20/07/2022 00:46

ugh that’s so embarrassing for him

Hi @RogueV I have to disagree with you there, as I strongly believe that @andlle 's 2 dates guy does not think she is thick - he would need a brain to be able to do that. He is the one who is "thick". I don't think that we need to delve any deeper than that for his motivations, and I would be very surprised if he has managed to attract a woman for a long enough time, that they agreed to marry him.

I do feel a bit sorry for him as I imagine that he lives either all alone (and has very few friends), or that he still lives with his mother, and that might not change for the next 40 odd years. I really hope I am wrong with my quack psychology, but he seems to be a fantasist, who has no real prospects of living a "normal" life.

BadLad · 20/07/2022 01:11

Is his name Crumbs1?

Vecna · 20/07/2022 01:22

I actually feel sorry for him (and pity absolutely gives me the ick). He is obviously trying to appear sociable, fun and popular. It's really thick too, which also gives me the ick.
