A Queen's guard being given water. Can you imagine wearing a wool jacket & bearskin hat in this heat? This uniform needs rethinking for extreme heat.

I saw this pic yesterday and was absolutely disgusted the queen wants to be ashamed making them do that in this heat, bet she’s was saying with legs up someone feeding grapes and fanning her cool haha JOKE !!

I’m sure we’d pass out in this heat if we were standing for the time the guards are standing. But we’re not soldiers. This is the job they’ve chosen.
However, recruits in many parts of the country it’s be a soldier or be on benefits. These soldiers are trained with guns and not for photos. Who do we send when wars start?
Perhaps worth remembering this when we vote at election time.
Many soldiers sometimes only join up to avoid unemployment, not all, but worth remembering.
They don’t deserve to be bullied as we often read in the press. They do their jobs abroad and then some are charged for doing what they were trained to do.

And you’d be disciplined. It’s part of the job, soldiers can’t just refuse to obey orders.

I don’t know any soldiers who joined up to avoid unemployment, I do know quite a few highly educated JNCO’s that joined up because they wanted to serve their country, excellent mechanics, medics who are just as qualified as paramedics and pilots. I’m not sure their only other option was signing on. I’m sure a small minority join the infantry as it’s their best option but I can’t think of a single one on our patch that I know.

My DH today was fixing electric cars today in a boiler suit, thick gloves, special boots and a helmet in a hot car workshop. He has to wear it so he doesn't die in case he gets zapped from the direct current.

Being in a war zone is different. It does matter if you can't do your job in the heat as you have a vital job to do.

In a heatwave - the job can still get done but some accommodation could be made as it's not a matter of life or death that they wear such a uniform in the heat.

There was never a ‘famine’ - the rich, prosperous land was taken from Irish landowners and given to the British landowners or rich Irish families loyal to the crown. The Irish were left to feed their families on a meagre few square feet of land and when the crop failed, as it was the mainstay and normally most productive crop to feed many, they starved. The rich landowners still expected their rents for land that couldn’t sustain people.

Unfortunately, the truth behind the ‘Irish problem’ is not taught in English schools so the vast majority see the issue in Northern Ireland etc as terrorists but don’t know the hundreds of years of hurt and history behind it.

Personally the Guards are in a status position I knew someone who rode exercised their horses in the early hours each day and its quite an Elite fixture they have balls as in society dances and mingle with a certain strata so that hat represents as bizarre as it looks rather like Ermine Cloaks and Crowns and bending the knee a certain standing .
Rather like waving from carriages I feel all the fairytale princesses ended up miserable with their Princes anyway yet they still fell for that Disney story. It’s all a golden cage rather like all the illusions of glamour if you can be bothered with all the pomp.

Yet the Queen herself has been found to be hoarding and hiding huge wealth, goong back generations!
Demanding that her and all her estates are left out of important laws and regulations meant to bring buildings upto energy standards and hundreds of other laws!?

Wtf. And now most recently, getting away with wildlife killings of endangered animals fully assuming they have a right to live outside the law.

They have zero morales, zero duty to country and the Queen herself is lawless and rebranding it all as somehow acceptable for them. It's all been a bunch of lies.

They're has to be consequences for this family for these outrages 😠
And preferably in the Queen's lifetime.
