Wanting to buy some ice lollies for me and the kids tomorrow but can’t decide which ones to buy xx

OP posts:

I'm guessing you won't have much choice and will just have to have whatever is left. I walked past the ice cream freezer in my local Asda today and it was almost empty.

But if you can get some, Fruit Pastille lollies are quite refreshing.

Not clear at all. Anyways, if OP can’t invest in a £1 box of ice lollies without consulting MN then tbh I despair 😂

Assuming that people's brain cells haven't melted in the heat, and from the OTT responses like this, I'm beginning to think that's the case, then I do think it was pretty clear that she was asking if they were a similar style of ice lolly.

You'd better step away from MN altogether if you and so many others are about to develop a hernia over the thought of posters daring to chat about minutiae and asking for recommendations. People ask on here for opinions on everything from what to have for dinner to the best crisps and what to buy in Aldi. It's not that strange so I've no idea why you're all having kittens over it.

Not about to develop a hernia, just think it’s a laughable thing to post about, but thanks for your concern and participation 😂

Maybe op should have posted on the "Investments" board over in the money section.

Yes maybe, given the high stakes and high risks involved

GertrudePerkinsPaperyThing · 17/07/2022 22:45

Our co op hadn’t run out of lollies yesterday. Come to think of it they didn’t have everything they usually have though

SagittariusDwarf · 17/07/2022 22:46

Personally, I’m a fan of a Twister or a mini magnum. I’m hope this insight, along with the opinions raised by other posters, helps OP navigate this truly difficult dilemma.

You're all wrong. Feast is the most superior of all frozen snacks.

Nope, you are wrong. Feasts used to be the best. Unbeatable when I was a child (in the 90s).

I bought a box of Feasts last year and I have never been so disappointed! They taste like cooking chocolate now, and they're small! Ruined.

Biggreencactus · 17/07/2022 22:56

I really like the Mochi ice cream balls, Aldi cheesecake ones or the Little Moons pistachio are lovely.

My children love Twisters (all flavours), calipos, Cornettos, basically anything on a stick. Tend to avoid the twisty ones with a thin stick because my son drops them. The watermelon shaped ones look good but were a bit meh and melted very quickly.

Ben and Jerry's Netflix and Chilled or a good creamy ice cream would be my favourite tub ice cream. Hope you have lots of choice tomorrow and enjoy your ice lollies ☺️

Wisteriabloom · 18/07/2022 09:46

If you have a Morrison's store near you, I'd recommend their (own brand) of slime lollies! They're blue raspberry lollies, with 'apple slime' centre. I've stocked up, they're delicious. 😋
Otherwise the Iceland ice lollies based on sweets - fruit salad, cola bottle etc are nice, as another poster said.

WendellGeez · 18/07/2022 13:07

Come on now, people… Magnums, Feasts and Cornettos are not ice lollies! They're ice creams.

Iceland is great for ice lollies - lots of variety and good offers. My personal favourites are Cola calippos and also the lime calippos. As a previous poster said it's handy to get Sun Lollies (triangle) I keep them in the cupboard to save freezer space then Chuck them in the freezer when weather turns nice, saves rushing out to the shops. You can do this with ice pops too

Ikeatears · 18/07/2022 23:10

@Lalalaleeloo no what?

LunaLula83 · 18/07/2022 23:48

rocket! we love those

Sarah68tinker · 19/07/2022 00:05

@Lalalaleeloo no what?

That picture is all shades of wrong.

Steelesauce · 19/07/2022 12:24

I just buy multiple big boxes of low sugar/low calorie ice poles that you freeze yourself and let the kids have as many as they want. I was fed up of spending loads on icelollies to be constantly rationing/having to break up arguments over who gets the last solero 🤣
