Wanting to buy some ice lollies for me and the kids tomorrow but can’t decide which ones to buy xx

OP posts:

Local Tesco here fully stocked with ice lollies this afternoon. We just buy the cheap own brand/Miss Molly fruit lollies - our kids have very unsophisticated taste.

User48751490 · 17/07/2022 20:18

Rocket lollies, fruit pastille lollies, Ice Blasts, Rowntrees push ups and I love cider ice lollies.

NCHammer2022 · 17/07/2022 20:18

I like a Calippo (or supermarket knock off version)

Blankbias · 17/07/2022 20:20

you can make your own, it’s really easy. Either orange juice (or other fruit), frozen. Lolly stick in a yoghurt pot and freeze, or banana, berries and yoghurt frozen. I had a frozen orange juice lolly for breakfast!

OakTreex · 17/07/2022 20:20

All the freezers in my Tesco and Asda were completely empty of ice cream today! I went about 3pm and there was nothing except a single box of weird sorbet cornetto type things. So that's what we had Grin

The watermelon and strawberry ones are lovely. The 'seeds' of the strawberry are chocolate chips

DarkDarkNight · 17/07/2022 20:21

I just get what’s on offer. I filled my freezer today with Twisters (a new flavour called peek a blue), strawberry cornettos because my son likes them and mini milks for the nostalgia factor.

calyppo are very refreshing in the heat, I normally get the mini ones, I also like Fabs and old fashioned strawberry splits. There used to be some gorgeous R White lemonade ones, I’m not sure if they still do them, and Morrisons have some own brand bubblegum flavour lollies which are ice cream. It look like lollies.

fir ice cream I like the Cadbury Dairy Milk ones in the purple pack or Cadbury cones with a flake.

HRTQueen · 17/07/2022 20:23

Sainsbury’s coconut and lime are really refreshing

my favourite are the banana ones you get from Ice Cream vans

RockinStroll · 17/07/2022 20:24

Aldi do a mixed box thay we all really enjoyed.
We like the orange and red twisted ones from Co Op as well.

LemonAndAPear · 17/07/2022 20:25

I've just had a Twister Peek A Blues which are delicious. Also Drumstick Lollies which are very nice.

WendellGeez · 17/07/2022 20:48

Good old-fashioned Popsicles are the best.
Grape, orange, banana or chocolate.
Avoid the lime and bright pink ones (I think the latter are supposed to be raspberry) and any modern (other) flavours.

Binglebong · 17/07/2022 21:01

B&M have proper Sun Lollies (you freeze them at home). Far far superior to other triangle lollies - got me very excited.

Binglebong · 17/07/2022 21:01

Sorry- Home Bargains.

ClemmyTine · 17/07/2022 21:02

Whilst you've been looking at these replies you could have been to the shop and back.
;)

Wait, they do strawberry ones??? Are they similar to the watermelon ones? The watermelon ones look sooo nice x

yes, because strawberry and watermelon are exactly the same 🤨

what an idiotic thread 😂

What an idiotic comment! She's clearly asking if they're the same sorbet style of ice lolly as the watermelon ones and yes, they are.

She asked if they were similar, not exactly the same?

Think someone needs a Calippo and a lie down!

Egghead68 · 17/07/2022 21:27

Solero

Whatsnew2 · 17/07/2022 21:34

I must say I don't get Fabs. So much so I have never had one, it just doesn't appeal. Now I wonder if perhaps my mind would be blown if I tried one.

Also I like this thread. It's just a discussion about ice cream preferences, just what my anxious imploding brain needs right now. Thank you OP!

supertedlasso · 17/07/2022 21:53

This has reminded me, I've not done my yearly Google to see if funny feet are back 😂

supertedlasso · 17/07/2022 22:09

😭 Apparently Iceland had then last summer. I don't think I'm timing my searches well 🤣

Not clear at all. Anyways, if OP can’t invest in a £1 box of ice lollies without consulting MN then tbh I despair 😂

Heistonabike · 17/07/2022 22:21

You're all wrong. Feast is the most superior of all frozen snacks.

Assuming that people's brain cells haven't melted in the heat, and from the OTT responses like this, I'm beginning to think that's the case, then I do think it was pretty clear that she was asking if they were a similar style of ice lolly.

You'd better step away from MN altogether if you and so many others are about to develop a hernia over the thought of posters daring to chat about minutiae and asking for recommendations. People ask on here for opinions on everything from what to have for dinner to the best crisps and what to buy in Aldi. It's not that strange so I've no idea why you're all having kittens over it.

Maybe op should have posted on the "Investments" board over in the money section.
