Really it’s 19 and there’s a breeze. It might get up to 23 on Monday. I’m grateful as I don’t do heat. But The Heat isn’t everywhere. We’ve been walking the do in the day and I’m contemplating taking a cardi out with me tonight for the walk home from the pub…

High twenties and lovely in Kent.

RebOrHon · 16/07/2022 21:02

North West. An exceptional summer’s day here - it hasn’t rained for 12 whole hours. Rain forecast overnight. Temperature supposed to go up on Monday & Tuesday but forecast is for cloud with no visible sunshine. If the temperature does go up we’ll be sitting in the shade of the big oak tree in the garden or , on the off chance the forecast is right for once, in the cool of our basement games room. It’s a pleasant 19-20 degrees there today with the garden doors open. London based forecasters are predicting storms here on Wednesday. To us it just means the rain will come at you straight down as opposed to sideways.

Sheringham, Norfolk… I had to put a hoodie on To go to Tesco’s. Chilly tonight.

Wishyfishy · 16/07/2022 21:08

In London… I know it’s supposed to get very hot and I’m a bit worried but right now DC are in bed with usual duvets on top. I’m not close to warm enough to sleep without blankets.

I just wish it would rain though. Everything is yellow outside. It’s impossible to water the garden enough.

19 now, 25 tomorrow supposedly but I'll believe it when I see it! Still lovely and cool in the shade in the garden with a breeze and no humidity. My little cottage is 20 degrees or so, but will cool rapidly over night and we'll sleep with blankets on. It was hot for walking earlier but we have an abundance of rivers. Snowdonia doesn't really get heat waves in my experience!

It's been 32.5 here in North Yorkshire today Confused

Rainbowshit · 16/07/2022 21:09

Glasgow. It's not that warm here. It was at least dry today and the freezing wind of the last few days has dropped but no sunshine.

garlictwist · 16/07/2022 19:34

North Yorks here. It's been pretty chilly for the past few days. Today has been nice (low 20s) which is excellent weather compared to the usual shit we get Grin.

They're saying high 20s for Monday and Tuesday but I will eat my hat if that happens.

I'm in North Yorkshire too and we were at 32.5 here today!

heidihigh · 16/07/2022 21:13

Been about 24/25 today here in the West Mids. Was painting some fences earlier and the sweat was pouring off me! Forecast is 35 for Monday and 37 for Tuesday... and im working both days. Not looking forward to that one as my workplace is essentially a greenhouse Angry

Doboopedoo · 16/07/2022 21:14

Absolutely dreich here in Oban right now.

MontanaMountains · 16/07/2022 21:19

Worcestershire/Herefordshire border, maximum 25 today, with a nice breeze. Hasn't felt too hot at all and we did quite a bit of gardening this afternoon without feeling uncomfortable. Our house has very thick walls and the temperature inside today only rose from 20.1 this morning to 20.6 this afternoon. I was out at an outdoor theatre performance last night and definitely needed a jumper by the end of the evening. Hoping the predicted 38 degrees doesn't materialise.

DontKeepTheFaith · 16/07/2022 21:19

I have family in Cambridgeshire, its forecast to be 41c on Monday, so fucking glad I moved to the seaside all those years ago. Our predicted high Monday is 31c. Still hot but more bearable.

c3pu · 16/07/2022 21:20

South coast, it's been about 25 tops during the "heatwave" - just feels like summer to be honest.

It's forecast to get up to 29 on Monday, but it probably won't.

NotQuiteUsual · 16/07/2022 21:21

Northumberland is lush right now. Warm but not hot, kids been out all day playing with their little mates. I'd take a whole summer of days like this.

CombatBarbie · 16/07/2022 21:21

Light rain here this evenjng with highs of 19 in SW Scotland

Prometheus · 16/07/2022 21:26

I’m on the Wirral. Been nice today but pretty average all week. Looking forward to a warm Sunday-Tuesday then back to 19 degrees and cloud according to the forecast. Schools have said kids can go in without blazer on Monday and Tuesday but no other fuss.

North West here again. It peaked at 21 degrees about 2pm. But very breezy in our garden (it always is) also a terrible smell of cow shit (farmer muck spreading) is why I am sat inside. I have a hoodie on.

Muck spreading here too!

But breezy in the garden so enjoyed the 24 degrees in E Devon.

House is E/W so windows and curtains closed on one side in the morning and the other in the afternoon.

Feel concerned about people in the very hot areas and realise how lucky we are.

Fairislefandango · 16/07/2022 21:32

Yep, same here. Also NW England. I'm glad - I hate the heat.

onlythreenow · 16/07/2022 21:32

It's -1.7 where I am, at 8.30 am.

Oh sorry, you only wanted the UK Grin

Minniem2020 · 16/07/2022 21:56

North Northumberland and was 21 here today, I was chilly in the shade, pissed it down all day yesterday though so was nice to have some sun.

WhileMyGuitarGentlyWeeps · 16/07/2022 21:59

Midlands (north-ish----) Gonna be HOT! Up to about 38 C I have seen predicted.

Close enough - New Zealand Grin

Teenangels · 16/07/2022 22:08

South East, it was 30 here today, and has been 26- 28 for the last few days.
i went to Brighton yesterday and it was 26 with a lovely breeze.
I am dreading Tuesday as it will be horrendous getting to work, and then no air conditioning.

MagpiePi · 16/07/2022 22:15

Been 20-25 deg C here in Sheffield today. Nice sitting in the sun but I've had my fleece joggers and a hoodie on this evening.

Can't be arsed with the 'London is hot so there must be a heatwave across the whole of the UK' narrative.
