to be surprised that my new nursing top from the NCT has a label on the outside saying "boob"

I mean, it's pretty weird isn't it, to want to walk around with a label saying BOOB right by your boob. It's not exactly subtle. It seems a bit like having jeans with ARSE written across them, or knickers with.... well, you get the idea.

I thought about returning it, but then DS yakked on it as I was trying it on and trying to calm her at the same time. She obviously doesn't think much of it either.

Where does it say boob? Couldn't see it on the pic.

PortAndLemon · 17/01/2008 11:54

boob is the company who make that particular design (Scandinavian company, I think). It's not like it's emblazoned across your chest -- it's a pretty small label, after all (at least, it is on my boob tops). You get a much closer view than anyone else will (other than the baby, who probably won't be reading yet).

FillyjonkisCALM · 17/01/2008 11:55

I wouldn't want to wear that really, no

The NCT seems a bit obsessed with that word, atm.

We have a local NCT group called "boobiful babies" for bfding mothers.

I mean, I don't really want to tell my FIL that I am am off to a group called "boobiful babies". What is wrong with "Breastfeeding Support Group?"

I dunno, I like to use proper words for things really, especially around little kids. They are BREASTS, get used to it

NAB- you're right you can't see it on the photo. It's a nice little surprise when it arrives- a small yet distinctive label by my right tit.

Boobiful babies sounds ghastly. I think I would have to boycott it just because of that name. Perhaps I lost all sense of humour with the arrival of LO...

Or Norks 'Nonymous

MaryAnnSingleton · 17/01/2008 13:34

I hate that term anyway, it's vile - as is 'norks'

Perhaps they think you might forget where they are, and try and bf with your arse by mistake?

Tutter · 17/01/2008 13:54

i have loads of bbob tops and a boob dress

didn't know the nct sold them

am planning to offload most of mine tbh - anyone interested

i have 3 short sleeved and 2 long sleved tops i hardly ever wear

BibiThree · 17/01/2008 13:56

Not for me either, I know where my boobs are thank you. Can I just say though, £29 for a t-shirt? Oh my.

Tutter · 17/01/2008 13:57

IT'S THE NAME OF THE COMPANY

NOT A DESCRIPTION OF WHAT LIES BENEATH

Piffle · 17/01/2008 13:59

Tutter · 17/01/2008 13:59

they're all medium i think

happy to let you have them for a donation to mile for maude - say a fiver per top?

will go and check but i think i have

long sleeved in dark blue
ditto in dark green

short in red
ditto in watermelon
ditto in earth (khaki-ish)

Washersaurus · 17/01/2008 14:00

Tee hee, my friend asks her little daughter "do you want some booby?". I try not to snigger. Recently, she asked me what I say when I offer milk to DS2, and I said "Ummmm....Would you like some milk DS2?"

I can't imagine anyone using words like booby or titty except 8 year old boys

Piffle · 17/01/2008 14:01

and a top for baby here

Piffle · 17/01/2008 14:02

done deal happy to take em all unless chequers (first dibs after all) wants

Tutter · 17/01/2008 14:03

the watermelon one is L, randomly

other are M

PortAndLemon · 17/01/2008 14:04

I've always said "would you like a feed?", so DS calls my breasts "feeds". Which at rising-3 sounds rather like he's calling them "feet" and can get a bit confusing...

Tutter · 17/01/2008 14:04

still want watermelon?

will wait to see if chequers interested too

if so will let you choose one, then her one, then you one, etc

mizkone · 17/01/2008 14:05

I liked the bit in the blurb about 'discrete' feeding - you'd think an outfit as mc as the nct would know 'discrete' from 'discreet', wouldn't you?

BibiThree · 17/01/2008 14:05

I do know that, no need to shout, just if it's positioned over your boob, it's going to look like a description rather than a label. Like I said, not for me.
