Real situation....in a coffee shop now.

On the fence about this.

Very artisanal place, fresh cakes etc. menu says 'fresh orange juice'

What would you expect to be served?

Fresh orange juice….?

Mrsjayy · 07/07/2022 10:23

I'd expect fresh orange juice

CoffeeBeansGalore · 07/07/2022 10:23

Not pasturised out of carton I could pay £1.50 for 1 litre in the supermarket.

What did you get ? I mean I wouldn't expect freshly squeezed or anything.

FuckingHateRats · 07/07/2022 10:24

Something with bits in it.

NiqueNique · 07/07/2022 10:24

Freshly squeezed orange juice if I was being pedantic about it.

Otherwise I’d also be happy enough with fresh juice as in not from concentrate (although they’re taking the piss on price if that’s what you got).

JuicyMelonss · 07/07/2022 10:24

250ml of freshly squeezed orange juice with bits.

FedUpWithBriiiiick · 07/07/2022 10:25

Fresh orange juice with bits.

I imagine you have been served Sunny D? 😁

DoNutSweatTheSmallStuff · 07/07/2022 10:25

Fresh orange juice ?

thetombliboo · 07/07/2022 10:25

Freshly squeezed for that price near me.
I like watching those squeezy orange machines. 😊

SeemsSoUnfair · 07/07/2022 10:25

"Fresh" orange (preferably not from concentrate, but dont count on it!) out a bottle/carton.

Would like freshly squeezed orange, but you wouldnt get that for £2.80!

Orange juice out of an orange, not out of a bottle?!

Mushroo · 07/07/2022 10:25

Probably one of those little glass bottles of OJ unless there was obviously a juicer behind the counter.

Rosiestraws · 07/07/2022 10:26

orange juice not from concentrate, but possibly still from carton..

Reallybadidea · 07/07/2022 10:26

I'd expect something like Tropicana ie fresh not pasteurised. I wouldn't expect freshly squeezed unless it actually said fresh squeezed.

Mushroomlady · 07/07/2022 10:26

Freshly squeezed there and then, but for £2.80 I would probably ask as I've been caught out by this before and would expected freshly squeezed to cost more.

thetombliboo · 07/07/2022 10:26

Sorry I thought you said £8.20.
I doubt I would get freshly squeezed for £2.80. I would expect a regular fresh orange out of a bottle/ carton

SoupDragon · 07/07/2022 10:26

I'd like to think it would be freshly squeezed but it doesn't mention the word "squeezed" so it probably isn't. At the very least I'd expect a premium "not from concentrate" juice with bits in it.

Rosiestraws · 07/07/2022 10:26

I think freshly squeezed orange juice would be more like £4 or so, so I wouldnt expect that...

Mrsjayy · 07/07/2022 10:27

A small bottle of innocent is nearly £2 so 2.80 in a cafe seems reasonable.

10HailMarys · 07/07/2022 10:27

Fresh orange juice that wasn't from concentrate. I wouldn't necessarily expect them to squeeze oranges on the premises, but I also wouldn't expect the long-life pasteurised stuff you'd get as a mixer in the pub.

Marmite27 · 07/07/2022 10:27

The type that comes out of a carton, or the bottles at McDonald’s (can’t remember the brand).

IMO ‘fresh’ orange juice is used to differentiate it from orange squash/cordial which is also known as juice in some parts.

Unless it said ‘freshly squeezed’ orange juice, I wouldn’t expect that.

Oreosareawful · 07/07/2022 10:27

I'd expect 'Pure' orange juice from a carton. I wouldn't be expected 'Freshly Squeezed' straight from the orange.
