Does anyone believe Boris Johnson?

noblegiraffe · 03/07/2022 10:32

Johnson is claiming that he didn't know there were any issues with Chris Pincher before he appointed him back to the office Chris had previous quit over allegations of sexual harassment. Ministers have been wheeled out to defend Johnson's lack of knowledge (again).

Is there anyone apart from Nadine Dorries who actually believes this?

YABU - I believe Boris
YANBU - Boris is lying again and taking us all for fools

I would check a calendar if he told me today is Sunday, as I would not be sure he was telling the truth.

boatahoy · 03/07/2022 10:59

YANBU and agree wholeheartedly with what @balalake said!

MistyGreenAndBlue · 03/07/2022 11:00

The man couldn't lie straight on a concrete slab.

HerRoyalHappiness · 03/07/2022 11:01

The man's a compulsive liar. If he told me the sky was blue I'd need to verify it myself

RemusLupinsBiggestGroupie · 03/07/2022 11:04

Everybody knows he's a continual liar. Any minster being wheeled out to defend him sold their soul a long time ago.

mum2jakie · 03/07/2022 11:04

He isn't even honest about his own bloody name!

Tlollj · 03/07/2022 11:06

I honestly think he couldn’t tell the truth if a lie occurred to him instead.
When can we have a general election? Couple of years yet I think?

TheScenicWay · 03/07/2022 11:07

I believe him. After all, it was probably just banter and boys being boys, women getting all uppity as usual. Honestly, men just don't where they're at these days. It's all soooo complicated.

SilverGlitterBaubles · 03/07/2022 11:08

Boris Johnson couldn't lie straight in bed

noblegiraffe · 03/07/2022 11:08

women getting all uppity as usual.

In this case, it was men getting uppity about being groped.

Oops. Sorry. Shouldn't be so presumptuous

DuncinToffee · 03/07/2022 11:11

Even Therese Coffey is finding it difficult to lie for him on Sophie Ridge this morning

“I’m not aware that [the PM] was made aware of specific claims [against Chris Pincher]” says Therese Coffey, before quickly adding “That’s what I’ve been told today.”

Piggywaspushed · 03/07/2022 11:11

Even Therese Coffey didn't manage to sound convinced on the various rounds of TV this morning.

Notonthestairs · 03/07/2022 11:14

Of course Johnson knew the risks - it was on Williamson's list of bad behaviour/blackmail. But Pincher was loyal to Johnson and that's the only qualification necessary. If that meant staff and other MPs were at risk of being groped so what? It's all about Big Dog.

DuncinToffee · 03/07/2022 11:15

Johnson said this

“Pincher by name. pincher by nature”

Clem_Fandango · 03/07/2022 11:21

The man is a joke, a selfish lying hypocritical merchant banker - he's "scum"

TimBoothseyes · 03/07/2022 11:21

Yet another lie he thinks we're all stupid enough to fall for.

Also known as ‘I haven’t asked directly whether Boris knew before I did this interview because then I’d definitely have to lie to you.’

Although I’m not totally sure any of them care who’s lying about what any more. It’s just the default position to protect the PM.

TokyoSushi · 03/07/2022 11:29

Of course he blooofy did!

🤣🤣🤣

This is so true.

No I don't believe him. Apparently he has the nn 'pincher by name, pincher by nature'.

That doesn't lead me to think anything other than they knew and he had a reputation.

The problem with this current bunch of clients in charge is that they genuinely do think they are the untouchable elite and those supporting the cabinet are too thick to be offered another ole so it's support Johnson or be jobless.

noblegiraffe · 03/07/2022 11:30

Johnson also didn't know what a party was or who paid for his wallpaper.

How did we end up with someone so ignorant of everything as Prime Minister?

MrsRobinsonsHandprints · 03/07/2022 11:30

I've ended up in this weird situation where by if I read something about him, or about something he has done, no matter how preposterous I believe it.

There is nothing that I would think he wasn't capable of doing (apart from telling the truth)

itsgettingweird · 03/07/2022 11:31

noblegiraffe · 03/07/2022 11:30

How did we end up with someone so ignorant of everything as Prime Minister?

Because we sadly didn't.

We've ended up with a highly intelligent narcissist who doesn't care who he hurts in his quest to be king of the world.

It's all about Johnson preserving his image and Johnson's wants and needs.

ginandbearit · 03/07/2022 11:36

Anna Soubry hinted at knowing there were problems with him from the early days when they joined Parliament so old news, and therefore common knowledge . But he's a Boris toady and therefore protected .

noblegiraffe · 03/07/2022 11:30

Johnson also didn't know what a party was or who paid for his wallpaper.

How did we end up with someone so ignorant of everything as Prime Minister?

Because he had an 'oven ready' brexit deal.

Another lie
