Absolutely ridiculous argument about pizza

Dinnerdoldrums · 24/06/2022 19:19

DH makes dinner on Fridays (read: puts frozen pizzas in the oven). He forgot my pizza this evening, remembered his and the children's.

When dinner was ready and there was none for me, he offered to put my pizza in the oven so it would be ready 10 minutes later. I told him not to bother as I don't much like pizza anyway (which is true) and he knows I only eat it with them because everyone else likes it.

Now he's sulking because he thinks I'm being ridiculous and I'm hiding in the kitchen.

So am I being unreasonable?

And bonus points if you want to tell me exactly how ridiculous this argument is!

I would get spiteful.. I sort the shipping I would conveniently forget the Pizza's that week.
"Oh forgot them.."

wotsitsaremyfave · 26/06/2022 09:52

Wait until they all finished eating and then get your pizza and enjoy it whilst they watch on

balalake · 26/06/2022 09:53

Yes a ridiculous argument.

AWobABobBob · 26/06/2022 10:05

Were you sulking in the kitchen over it? If you were you both sound pretty pathetic if you fall out over such trivial matters. A frozen pizza takes minutes to cook - a simple oversight by him that could be quickly rectified without all the drama.

RachaelN · 26/06/2022 13:28

Yeah I would be furious.. how could he forget you. Bet you have never forgotten to feed him.

The guy made a mistake, for goodness sake, you must be a Saint. But you are not are you, you haven't been honest with us. Everyone loves Pizza!!! Aha, caught you out .

This is not an easy to follow post, if you don't mind me saying.

A bit like the steak-based vegan lunch-dinner and the 9-day fortnight. But I imagine the fault is all mine. Forgive me for my ineptitude.

It was me who was sulking and being unreasonable. If there's a next time I'll just wait that extra 10 minutes and not make a big deal out of it. Thanks for everyone's posts.

And for the doubters, here is the link to the salmon pizza - www.carrefour.fr/p/pizza-au-saumon-carrefour-3270190217190

You live in France!!! Lucky you. I can’t wait to move back for retirement.
i think your partner needs to learn how to make pizza. It’s not that difficult, he can make a big one for all of you and it’s really nice and healthy.

As a treat: There is often a pizza stand on the market where you can buy a pizza once a week and bring your own drinks.

DoNotGetADog · 27/06/2022 07:59

What I really don’t understand is the fact that you cook 6 days a week and your rest from cooking is your husband cooking a frozen pizza you don’t like.

Cooking a frozen pizza is zero effort. It would be just as much of a rest for you if you cooked that meal as well!

It seems like you tolerate eating the pizza once a week, so why don’t you cook frozen pizza one of your six nights and your husband cook something proper on his night. That way you will get 2 rest days from cooking and they will still get their pizza.

Also, you could always make yourself something different that day if you wanted.

As someone else said, I’ve never had an oven in which you could cook 4 pizzas simultaneously anyway, but obviously the cook would do their own last.

treat yourself every friday! A fancy shop bought salad. or a deli takeout on the way home .. enjoy it and know they enjoy theirs and its ok to be different

"How can he literally forget one member of the family when all he has to do is get the pizzas out the fridge/freezer and unpackage them and put them in the oven?!"
Err.... He's a bloke?

I don't rate pizza either, I have the same attitude as you.

It is often nice to have an alternative special meal for one. Something extra special. I have been known to scoff a pork pie with salad and pickles, or a quick special like steak and onions and tomatoes with half a tin of mixed beans. All very quick to do. (With a glass or two of wine, of course. Ya boo sucks!
