I'll go first....

If you are feeling low, do something for someone else. Not because you have too, but because you can. I promise you will walk away feeling more inspired than you did before! Just be kind in life, it's so rewarding.

Watch your dog, or borrow one for a day, and then live life the way they do.

They move for the pleasure of it.
They rest when they want to with no guilt.
They forgive people instantly, unless they are repeatedly mistreated.
They act on their gut instinct.
They live completely in the moment.
They pursue what they want relentlessly.
They play every day.

I wouldn’t recommend humping legs or shitting in the street, but otherwise, be more dog!

twinings2 · 21/06/2022 06:46

Sleep.

Don't lie awake worrying unless it's actually solving the situation, lack of sleep makes everything worse.

RainbowToes · 21/06/2022 06:51

If you want to do something, just do it. Don't save it for the future...do it and enjoy it!

Yirk · 21/06/2022 06:58

When life knocks you down, get back up and look it square in the face every time.

zafferana · 21/06/2022 07:01
  • Trust your instincts.
  • Don't put yourself and your needs last.
  • Find joy in the little things and be grateful for what you have.
  • Live each day as if it's your last, because one day it will be and you don't know when that day is coming.
  • And remember that your DC will also not be DC forever. Make memories. Have fun.
balalake · 21/06/2022 07:02

Regular and consistent sleep. Things are easier if you are not excessively tired.

KangarooKenny · 21/06/2022 07:03

If in doubt, do nowt.
This works for me and has been right so many times.

IbizaToTheNorfolkBroads · 21/06/2022 07:07

Maintain financial independence.
By all means have a joint account with your partner, but stay in work and contribute to it!

Tomorrow is not guaranteed.

BadAtMaths2 · 21/06/2022 07:11

Always take time to explore. Explore near and far and make life interesting.

WonderingWanda · 21/06/2022 07:16

If I am having a tired an unproductive day I embrace it, put my feet up, read a book, watch Netflix (if it's a work day leave as early as you can and do the same), feed the kids microwave meals and let them have loads of screentime. Most importantly don't feel any guilt. I used to try and drag myself through those days and felt awful about how little I'd achieved. Now I view it as recharging my batteries so I can be more productive the next day.

Pollydonia · 21/06/2022 07:21

Dont take it for granted that all of your colleagues are also your friends.
Make sure to properly empty your bladder, leaning forward can help.
Notice the beauty around you a bird a tree, a flower a cloud.
Dont let yourself get dehydrated.

QueenMabby · 21/06/2022 07:26

Life is not about how high you fly but how well you bounce

iloveeverykindofcat · 21/06/2022 08:15

You can judge a person's character by the way they treat delivery drivers, teenage waitstaff, taxi drivers, bartenders, etc. My mum met my dad in a pub, and she said the first thing she noticed was his courtesy to the staff.

Changednamesorry · 21/06/2022 08:18

Stay away from hormonal contraception.

MsTSwift · 21/06/2022 08:23

Take pleasure in the beauty of everyday life.

Marry your friend - kind decent interesting - otherwise don’t bother

bobby81 · 21/06/2022 08:27

‘Everything you want is on the other side of fear.’ I used to say this to myself a lot when I was younger because I was scared of everything and needed to push myself a bit.
Love this thread, some great tips.

hamstersarse · 21/06/2022 08:34

Eat a good dinner together at the table every night

Leftonread · 21/06/2022 08:36

Never grow a wishbone where a backbone ought to be.

If you're having a moment where everything is closing in and you're getting overwhelmed, just sit up straight. Straighten your back and expand your chest. It will feel better.

No one expects a confident fat woman. You'll scare a lot of mediocre men when you open your mouth and there's a power in that. Embrace being underestimated, just never underestimate yourself.

Subbaxeo · 21/06/2022 08:36

What a lovely thread. I’m enjoying reading such good life advice. Mine is be honest about what you want. And tell your loved ones and friends how important they are and how they make your life better. Lead by example.

mumonthehill · 21/06/2022 08:39

try and always see the positive. When overwhelmed, tired or stressed take a deep breathe and count to 10 before you say or do anything.

Slinkymalinky03 · 21/06/2022 08:41

Work part time and don't waste a precious minute all your free time
