Elsa and Anna's parents were shockingly awful...

Any others?

Instead of setting up a camp near the waterfall where they could eat, sleep and talk in peace, they chose to try and say silent in their home during the quiet place

This makes no sense. If the creatures are attracted to sound then the waterfall would be swarming with them as surely they don’t know the difference between noises/prey!

toastfairy · 12/06/2022 00:35

women only vomit when they're pregnant or have been drinking alcohol. Men never vomit.

the world is strangely devoid of women, to the extent that if a man exchanges more than 3 words with one you know she's probably the love interest.

Brace Dallas Howard's ability to sprint through forests / jungles away from dinosaurs while wearing massive heels is a cv worthy talent! I fall over and do myself a mischief if I do anything other than a very sedate shuffle!!

This and Chris Pratt plays a misogynistic, sexual harassing prick. BDH is looked down on by her sister for having a career and not being into looking after kids. Both the kids are annoying.

Stiff-necked military top brass will bang on and on and on about risks and safety of pilots when you're planning a secret mission to blow up an unspecific uranium plant, but they won't tell you to wear a motorcycle helmet when you're riding your bike at dangerous speeds to get to work and back.

I didn't get why

  1. they didn't blow up the mountain missives as they passed them
  2. why they didn't all need someone behind them
  3. the point of the person behind them - they just looked out the window looking for the missiles (see point 1)
Tilltheend99 · 12/06/2022 00:37

@toastfairy except if you are a male puppet policing the world

I'm guessing they would of needed more effective missiles and more.power

That's hilarious 😂

2 minutes isn't super long for a lifeguard. Please don't watch Finding Nemo though...

Nobody locks their car when they get out of it.

Hawkins001 · 12/06/2022 00:41

Cruel intentions, why is it a guy can put out, yet if a lady does it, somehow it's shameful ?

ChateauxNeufDePoop · 12/06/2022 00:44

Phone conversations that don't end with a goodbye-type word. I had an MD who worked in the US for 10 years who did this. I had to look at the phone display to double check he'd hung up.

I always bang on about the school buses in American films and wish we had them for our schools. They seem to drop everyone off right outside their houses, even if the house is in the middle of nowhere.

My school bus route weaved its way through the middle of nowhere. Most people were collected and dropped in front of our houses

@StrictlyAFemaleFemale it does stress me out when they are in the diner, order amazing looking food then don’t eat any of it.

People always make a big thing of Sandy changing to the sexy bad girl but no one ever mentions Danny become a letterman to impress her.

ifIwerenotanandroid · 12/06/2022 00:44

World War Z... film-makers lie. Lulworth Cove is NOT in Nova Scotia & also why do I keep missing Brad Pitt?

Antarcticant · 12/06/2022 00:46

'Outbreak' - If there is a viral pandemic, all we need to do is find the original host animal and synthesise its antibodies for an instant vaccine/cure 👍

Well, within three minutes, he didn't need to bother because Sandy was clearly going to put out from now on.

ZandathePanda · 12/06/2022 00:52

‘Outbreak’ - the first shot is of a South American monkey in Africa. Ruined film for me and then DH as I was chuntering about it.
Because obviously the ‘scientists’ wouldn’t have questioned why monkeys were continent-hopping.

Have you been watching on film 4 too? I've just been considering Billy Zanes character and thinking actually he got a shit deal too. I mean he was an arsehole but she did run off and shag Jack which wasn't exactly ideal

She was only dating Billy Zane for her mother as inheritance didn’t used to pass down through women so then were otherwise going to be poor and lose their social standing but Rose was a ‘modern woman’ who couldn’t be held back by social convention.

Maybe there was room on the door but, based on how many people were rescued from the sea in real life, it is very unlikely Jack would have survived wether he jumped in with her or not. The only possibility would be they never met because he didn’t win the card game in the pub at the start.

That is so depressing. And accurate.

Why anybody would want to live in the county of Midsomer? Judging by the number of murders there, you’d be far safer in an inner city than rural middle England.

Houseprices.

An ongoing supply of probate sales. The whole county is affordable. Nowadays, people are understandably more concerned about an affordable mortgage than violent crime.

Squidwitch · 12/06/2022 00:59

Quaritch? In Avatar was not the/a bad guy. In another (military) film, he'd be the hero. I dunno, maybe I need to watch it again... Oh and if it's an 80s film, the kid will be called Danny or Sam

Too bloody right! She was awful

That highlights how the roles women play in society are more regimented (Madonna/whore) than those played by men (can simultaneously be a ‘jock’ and a greaser).

CanadianJohn · 12/06/2022 01:03

In the movie UP, Ellie is a total bully when she meets Carl when they were children.

Well, Kate Beckinsale did even better in "Van Helsing"! Running wearing massive heels AND a corset! And obviously looking on the bright side of death, as all Transylvanians do 😂🙄

One hour into 'Clear & Present Danger': it's impossible to destroy a Hummer with an RPG, but you can have a lot of fun trying.
