Elsa and Anna's parents were shockingly awful...

Any others?

If a parent/caregiver walks to the open door of a sleeping child's room, the bedclothes will always be off of the child so that the parent/caregiver can walk in and pull them up over the child to demonstrate to the audience that s/he loves the child.

I have a three year old and this ties quite closely with my experience! I’ve never known anyone kick the covers away as often as she does.

Old films telling us we keep the doors unlocked. Never happened in my parents or grandparents time.
That depends on where you live, surely.
Definitely could leave unlocked when I was little!
Still could now, it's that kind of place

I agree.

My dad had the door locked at all times, but my grandparents rarely locked the door.

Where I live now you could leave the door unlocked. Ours only gets locked (unless we are out) at bedtime. My son is working tonight and won't be home until 11.30/12 and I will leave the door unlocked for him.
