Elsa and Anna's parents were shockingly awful...

Any others?

Stiff-necked military top brass will bang on and on and on about risks and safety of pilots when you're planning a secret mission to blow up an unspecific uranium plant, but they won't tell you to wear a motorcycle helmet when you're riding your bike at dangerous speeds to get to work and back.

I guess of your off the clock it's at your discretion

Hawkins001 · 11/06/2022 23:51

Spooks, many events or terrorist attacks can happen, but the public will usually always be told it was or happened do to x cover story, and that usually it's only a terrorist attack if either it cannot be covered up, or it suits a particular interest.

Brace Dallas Howard's ability to sprint through forests / jungles away from dinosaurs while wearing massive heels is a cv worthy talent! I fall over and do myself a mischief if I do anything other than a very sedate shuffle!!

It was an Anti-Matter bomb - there was no fallout !

PureBlackVoid · 11/06/2022 23:52

Detectives searching for evidence/the criminal never think to put the light on. A tiny flashlight in a pitch black, huge house seems to do the trick.

Is that how they investigate in real life?

Depends on the design, some can use anti matter to trigger a higher strength nuke.

The average high school senior (US schools, last year before Uni) is about 30 years old.

MyneighbourisTotoro · 12/06/2022 00:04

How every female has perfect make up, no body hair (even after weeks of being trapped on a deserted island) perfect hair and perfect skin!

Noisenough · 12/06/2022 00:05

Nobody raised any concern about Marty Mcfly spending so much time with the local eccentric Marty was still a high school student.

At the end of the Da Vinci Code, everyone was cheering because the guy flew the nuclear bomb up into the sky in a helicopter, so it went off "safely" in the sky. I walked out fuming about the massive worldwide environmental damage.

It wasn't a nuclear bomb though?

WeAreBob · 12/06/2022 00:07

Hawkins001 · 11/06/2022 23:55

Depends on the design, some can use anti matter to trigger a higher strength nuke.

But it wasn't a bomb at all technically. It was just antimatter suspended in a tube. The "bomb" part was the antimatter falling out it suspension and making contact with matter.

Not a nuke. Not used to tridder a nuke. Just anti matter to mater reaction.

Always check the back seat of a car for a deranged murderer before getting in (Halloween). I genuinely do this.

I so a similar thing. When walking to my car at night, I look down to see under it. I don't bend down to look but from a distance, I scan my eyes down to the ground and check under it.
I don't remember the film it was from but I remember the killer hiding under her car and when she got next to the car to get in, his arm came out from underneath and he slit her ankles with a knife. So I check under my car! Totally not rational but cannot help it.

StrictlyAFemaleFemale · 12/06/2022 00:14

In every school film - the longer you study the better the grades. No one ever studies longer because it takes them longer, no one ever works really hard but never quite gets it.

Frozen. I should stress that my beef is not with the film itself but with the narrative around it. Why do people insist on referring to Elsa as a princess? Shes a fucking queen after the first 10 minutes. Show some respect and stop minimising the positions that women hold you patriarchal fuckers!

Oh and everyone in Grease is awful. Bullies, slut shaming, virginity shaming, leaving all their food at the diner.

Lord of the Rings is set in New Zealand and now I want to live there.

In the tv series “24” which is supposed to be in real time, I know they can’t sleep for 24 hours, but when do they eat, drink or use the bathroom?

In 7+ seasons I saw only 2 bathroom breaks.

Cattenberg · 12/06/2022 00:22

Jack would probably have survived the sinking of the Titanic if Rose hadn’t insisted on jumping into the sea with him.

Romeo and Juliet were a pair of eejits.

But there's often many minutes between characters, sometimes a full episode.

In AI . The bloke was the one to introduce David into the family . When he became an issue it was the mums problem and she had to be the one to return him to the facility to be destroyed , when she couldn’t do it , she released him into the woods . But it was the Dad that brought him into the house , fucking coward. Always gave me the rage that did

blueshoes · 12/06/2022 00:23

Child who is doing badly at school and misbehaving/feeling discouraged gets taught by inspirational teacher who teaches child to learn using a mnemonic. Suddenly singing, dancing, child is inspired, all learning is unlocked and problem solved.

ermm there are still millions of facts and things to learn not all of which can be taught with mnemonics and if they could, child will learn only a fraction in the time.

People in films who go underwater always happen to be one of those free divers who can hold their breath for insane amounts of time. Stranger Things, I'm looking at you, I know Steve was a lifeguard but him holding his breath with no trouble for 2 minutes was totally ridiculous. My teens always try and hold their breath when someone on TV goes underwater and every single time they "die" .

That's hilarious 😂

Wouldcouldcantwont · 12/06/2022 00:28

Nobody needs to buy toilet paper as they never need the loo. Oh and there is always a perfect parking space outside wherever they need to drive.

Have you been watching on film 4 too? I've just been considering Billy Zanes character and thinking actually he got a shit deal too. I mean he was an arsehole but she did run off and shag Jack which wasn't exactly ideal

Aghh · 12/06/2022 00:29

No a film, but…..

Sooty is a nasty bully, and Sue is a little snitching know it all.

Poor Sweep x
