i said i will only do it if....
he will book me into the birth center which is costly but worth the money
tbh i cant face having another baby on the nhs as im scared to death.
i know not all hospitals are the same but i have real issues with it.

Raises hand to praise the Edgware birthing centre.
Free on the NHS and given as a choice at my first GP appt after seeing the plus sign.

Look into it. I personally would suggest a doula if you can afford it. They make sure it goes smoothly and often help out after the birth for a few days. I have a friend who swears by doula's.

Someone already mentioned doula.

NHS sounds scary as hell from stories I have read on MN - so I don't blame you.

I had DS1 in Germany and swore I would not have my second there just because of lack of bed-side manner and sensitivty AND because they seperated me from him for 2 days and were more interested in my private health insurance than anything else. My DH then had a job offer in London, but after having been on MN for a while I told him I wouldn't be having a baby there either and so we came back to Oz. DS2's birth was a walk in the park and I felt totally secure ...

So - don't feel badly about it just go ahead with what will make you comfortable.
