@Greyhop I was told on multiple university courses to treat ALL newspaper articles as potentially bias, and that includes the Guardian. We were told that newspapers weren't the best source of information and that to be critical and obtain credible information, we should look at the information source, rather than news outlets interpretations of it.

TiddyTidTwo · 29/05/2022 14:23

Btw I do agree with the stupid SM bullying side against AH. Doesn't help one bit

Exactly. The Sun sensationalises - which is why I’d put more trust in Guardian/Independent/BBC. The Sun would have run with the wife beater headline for gossip, for readers - and similarly sensationalism now in favour of JD. You’d get neither such articles in our more trustworthy press.

But if you are trying to argue that your social media Tik Tok/YouTube/DM/Sun etc type sources are the most reliable sources, and these are fuelling your opinion now of JD - then, well…ok….

Where did I say I formed my opinion from SM or newspapers/tabloids?

I've watched the entire trial either live or on catch up.

I've seen it with my own eyes, I've heard it all with my own ears.

I don't believe AH accounts of sexual violence and I believe JD could be awarded defecation due to it.

Sure. And you calling her a bitch, cunt, evil and a narcissist is what exactly? And don't say you haven't, I reported those posts because they were appalling.

ObjectionHearsay · 29/05/2022 14:31

Defecation 🤣🤣🤣 what a typo 🤣🤣🤣

Apologies.

TiddyTidTwo · 29/05/2022 14:31

I see what you did there object........

💩

CarrieErbag · 29/05/2022 14:32

Lol at defecation.

TiddyTidTwo · 29/05/2022 14:35

Well she is a narc imo. Apart from the cunt word, I believe I was referring to my own husband and dry humor being lost in text, like you obviously missed it too 🤙

Sozzler · 29/05/2022 14:36

@ObjectionHearsay I think JDs been awarded enough defacation already 😂 Best typo of the thread!

Greyhop · 29/05/2022 14:37

@sozzler of course, but some sources are generally rated as more reliable than others?

In an Ipsos MORI research poll in September 2018 designed to interrogate the public's trust of specific titles online, The Guardian scored highest for digital-content news, with 84% of readers agreeing that they "trust what [they] see in it".[17] A December 2018 report of a poll by the Publishers Audience Measurement Company (PAMCo) stated that the paper's print edition was found to be the most trusted in the UK in the period from October 2017 to September 2018.

Greyhop · 29/05/2022 14:38

So where have you watched it? What website?

ENoeuf · 29/05/2022 14:41

I've found Sky the best place to watch as there's no commentary, I tried Emily D Baker and lasted about 30 seconds, tried Law Crime Channel (?) and found the commentary irritating. I haven't really read much about it except some comment pieces about social media. I've stopped following anyone on TikTok who used her testimony and recreated it as a piss take.

@Greyhop But that does not make them impartial, unbiased or mean they are not pushing a particular narrative. A lot of people commenting on here have formed their opinions from watching the actual trial, and not from the opinion pieces and secondary information of news outlets.

Greyhop · 29/05/2022 14:41

I expect most have gone to YouTube where - yes it has the live trial, but then it also brings up lots of sensationalist videos slaying Heard. Focussing on her facial expressions etc. You may say you don’t click on those, but you are aware and read them. They will be swaying you.

Do you then go to a more reliable source to see the other side of the opinion you are forming?

Nope. I read exactly what you wrote and your meaning was extremely clear. So don't for one second pretend you're morally superior to the social media bullies when you were gleefully joining in with the misogyny and vitriol.

TiddyTidTwo · 29/05/2022 14:46

Grey I know the sensationalist ones you mean, they have silly headlines and there's loads of them and appear under any decent video. Easy to spot and not to click.

I like the Behaviour panel account for example. 4 body language experts. They've covered many testimonies in the past too and haven't changed how they analyse. Long videos though.

IhopeYourCakeIsShit · 29/05/2022 14:48

I'm embarrassed asking this given how much some of you have followed this, so don't give me grief 😜
I didn't follow the UK trial or much of this one until the last couple of days.
Was there proof that Depp was violent in the UK case or was it purely based on testimony and Amber Heard was believed?

I watch it on Law and Crime and there isn't any commentary unless there is an option you can select for this maybe?

TiddyTidTwo · 29/05/2022 14:50

Aspiring

I don't care what you think. I say what I think and I am entitled to. I try to be fair but at points I've been angry and if you read all my posts you'll know why and I also said she needs help but you'll ignore those part, just pick out the ones so you can be patronising, twist the narrative and stand up for your girl. Sorry I am an imperfect victim. There's a lot like you out there so stick that in your patronising pipe and smoke it

He only lost tbe UK trial cos her cousin was fucking the judge.

or maybe it was her brother in law.

Have seen a few variations of the story 😉

This. It's the dodgy subtitles, the spliced audios taken out of context, the blatantly biased commentary, the spurious theories about coke sniffing on the stand, the 'body language experts', videos acting turned on by the details of her rape, photos capturing a split second that makes her look as bad as possible.

It's the comparisons with Jodie Arias because she wore glasses, trolls jumping on everything you say to say "well she shat in his bed and cut off his finger" (which 1000% are unproven and outlandish claims if you were actually applying the same standards to Depp as to Heard), the #MenToo - even though they've never said a word about other male victims - I could go on. We're swimming in a sea of pure misogyny.

unctuousunicorns1 · 29/05/2022 14:53

"The bone was crushed - it wasn't just a cut injury. The medical documentation from the hospital reported it as a crush injury due to the state of the bone."

Yes. There's video of JD dressed as JS signing some fan's tattoo in June 2015, three months after the March 2015 incident. The upper, as in opposite to palm side, of the finger is still bruised including on the middle knuckle. That to me would suggest a crush injury rather than a clean slice of the fingertip on the palm side.

In fact, poor ickle Johnny aka Creepy Rapey Bastard still cant hold a pen properly to this day, seven years later. There's footage of him signing autographs from a fortnight ago, showing the pen held between his fore and middle finger in a closed fist.

Not that I'm invested, nah, not me.

ENoeuf · 29/05/2022 14:54

@StormzyinaTCup oh maybe I have it wrong. It started and then someone said in a studio 'so that's the xyz and next it will be abc so let's go back to it now'
