Who will win between Johnny Depp and Amber Heard defamation case

Egtermekaar · 25/05/2022 14:49

If you were jury in this case, how would you decide?

I think Johnny Depp will win because he had strong, reliable and consistent evidence of "his" case

I hope MN will allow debate about a matter of public interest.

The depp supporters are a little bit like the q anon gang.

Satanic cannibals.

Yeah, that's us! So accurate! Well done you :)

What a glorious example of whatabouttery. This thread is nothing to do with that. That doesn't mean people don't support those victims too ffs.

I bet you couldn't even tell me their names.

If you watch this and the subsequent video you will see the type of woman AH is. JD barely defends himself against her gaslighting, she admits she throws things at him but never claims he does the same.

She calls everyone liars in court, her evidence is one bruise that could have been caused by anything. Sending nasty text messages does not prove violence against a spouse and neither does hitting journalists who won't leave him alone.

Did she take him to a criminal court? No. She wouldn't even have met the threshold.

If she had suffered years of severe beatings her evidence would have been mammoth, she is constantly videoing, funny how she never gets a video of him hitting her.

Bruises
Witnesses to him abusing her
His texts

Yet nothing that stood up in court... Interesting.

Could you, without google?
That aside, it's pretty foul behaviour to drag innocent people into a debate that has nothing to do with them. Something Amber would do.

minutesturntohours · 03/06/2022 11:07

Amber is on twitter this morning praising the #cutforamber movement and telling them she loves them. Do PP have anything to say about that?

He has a slick media machine controlling the media. MSN is not as powerful anymore as controlling the narrative especially in America. Look at Trump.
His behaviour demonstrated who he is. He set out to ruin her for standing up to him.

Good God... A VICTIM STOOD UP TO HIS ABUSER AND GOT JUSTICE! Why, after weeks of court and with evidence being presented by experts and both sides having the opportunity to debunk anything that wasn't true or credible, can you not accept AH abused JD?

As for the post stating he's friends with Marilyn Mason so therefore must be guilty... Jesus Christ. Couldn't get him with made up evidence, so let's make him guilty by association now instead? It's desperate and sad and it leaves real victims terrified of coming forward. Well done.

BobbinHood · 03/06/2022 11:10

As "feminists", which I am presuming given your support of Amber because she's a woman that you are, that's actually quite patronising and insulting.

Where have I spoken in support of AH? I have spoken against JD, that’s not the same thing.

It demonstrates the lack of understanding that you’re so offended by to assume I’m speaking in support of her just because I don’t get the shallow hero worship I see of a horrible, talentless drug addict.

I am a feminist. That’s not something to be ashamed of. Having the world at your feet then snorting it away over 10+ years (way before her met AH) and using an insidious social media campaign to build a false reputation is something to be ashamed of, but he’s being celebrated for it.

"Horrible, talentless drug addict" you sound LOVELY.

"Horrible, talentless drug addict" you sound LOVELY.

Which part is inaccurate? I’m a good parent and partner, good at my job and I don’t take illegal drugs or drink myself into oblivion. I think that makes me a damn sight better than him at being a decent person but you’re free to disagree and I’m sure he’s crying all the way to the bank too.

The Republican party’s Twitter account tweeted out a photo of Depp looking triumphant as Captain Jack Sparrow. You’re in excellent company, JD fans.

TheEnemy123 · 03/06/2022 11:20

minutesturntohours · 03/06/2022 10:25

Ah sorry, I just assumed she!

PP suggested you were probably happy that OJ Simpson got away with his crime. Foul.

Yes, it's intersting to see the bile from the Amber supporters today. What's making me chuckle though is that regardless of their keyboard tapping, Johnny's still won, and Amber is still finished.

That's OK, doesn't bother me. As those of us who are reasonable have tried to say repeatedly, a victim is a victim, male or female :)

My abuser once said to me, knowing I was devastated by a miscarriage myself and my ex-wife had suffered a few years previously, that she wished she'd gotten pregnant just so that she could kill it in front of me and see my face.

And some people still thought she was the victim and I the abuser, purely because she was a woman. So I've been in JD's shoes (albeit with a bit less money) and I'll always stand up for others who have suffered similarly.

Aspiringmatriarch · 03/06/2022 11:24

Depp being best friends with a rapist who has openly and proudly talked about his horrific acts doesn't raise any red flags for you? That's in addition to all the evidence against him. Manson is literally using the same playbook by the way, suing his victim.

And this case wasn't about a victim coming forward. It was a defamation case! It literally will have a hugely chilling effect on victims, male and female, feeling able to come forward. And you can't see that?!

felineweird · 03/06/2022 11:25

TBF being a drug addict does not necessarily make you a bad person. I agree that he is very far from perfect but often victims of DV are in such despair that they lash out with text messages such as his. And 'talentless'?????? He's the bloody dictionary definition of talented. You are utterly deluded if you truly believe he is talentless

But how does that have any bearing on what happened between AH and JD? It doesn't. Ian Huntley had mates too, you know.

What evidence is there against him? None that stands up to any kind of scrutiny, as proven in a courtroom. Honestly, you're grasping at straws and starting to look a bit silly now.

LetitiaLeghorn · 03/06/2022 11:58

One of the jury members has been on Tik Tok and given some insight into their decision.

He said that the lie about the donation was the point where he started to question everything she said. He also said most of the jury found it difficult to empathise with her, that he found her keep trying to make eye contact was uncomfortable and that she cried with no tears. They also picked up on her saying the op ed wasn't about Depp and then she said it was.

I'm neither - and no, it wasn't on tiktok. The tweet came from her account. Perhaps she could blame Johnny for that.

Interesting that the jury were uncomfortable with Amber's eye contact and attempts to talk over Camilla directly to them. Johnny only ever addressed the lawyer. @Aspiringmatriarch is being intimidating to the jury OK, or am I still a trolling liar?

He isn't a victim. He's a liar a dirty vile junkie and sick abuser.

she lost me at the bottle allegation, and then the Kate Moss debacle.

Well firstly, if that’s really a jury member, there’s no way they weren’t on social media during the trial. Hours after they get out of court, they’ve caught up with social media and started posting anonymously about it? Unlikely.

But also - why would Kate Moss testifying change anything? There absolutely was rumours for years that that had happened, Kate Moss saying it didn’t doesn’t magically erase those rumours and blind items that were all over for years.

People seemed to think that was a huge thing for the case, but it shouldn’t have made any difference because the gossip did exist.
