When I have a shower my head is always facing towards the shower

Now this is whether I am washing my hair or not. When you see a woman on TV or in a film having a shower she is always facing away from the shower. I have just watched something with a man and he was facing the shower. I know this is a first world question but how do you shower?

Away from the shower, most of the time, but towards it when I'm washing my face and bits.

I stand facing away from the spray until I step out of the spray to apply conditioner and soap up with shower gel. Then I face the spray to rinse the soap off the front of my body while the conditioner sits for a minute or two (so my hair is out of the spray) before turning back to rinse the conditioner out of my hair and the soap off the rest of my body

Away when washing hair. Towards the shower when washing face. Wiggling around when rinsing body.

I can’t stand water running down my face, so I pull the shower-head down the bar to neck height. Then wet face by wetting hands & rubbing them on it. Then turn so back is facing the spray, part bum-cheeks so that the rear gets a good rinse whilst using face wash. Pivot back to spray- facing whilst washing body (maybe I step back a bit out of water range for this part) then rinse face using the wet hand technique, then unclip shower head & rinse body. Lastly push the shower head back up the bar so that it’s in a suitable position for the two giants that live with me as I’m a a wonderful mother. They’re going to see my ex for a week in the summer & it’ll be exciting to not have to lower the thing.

If I stay in a hotel I really dislike the showers that come out of the ceiling. If you don’t like water in your face you have to do a limbo posture to avoid it. I’m also running out of bonnets de douche as my friends & relatives haven’t been to hotels so much recently!!

Start facing but the nozzle pointed at my head (I think) then turn around to get hair washed or rinsed. I need to observe myself tomorrow now.

My girls love the overhead rainfall head on their shower but I always stick to the more powerful adjustable nozzle as can't abide the water pouring down from above on my face

I'm like a spinning top, Start facing to wash my face, turn and wash my hair, back to the front to soap all over, turn to shave leg as and rinse hair.

If you face the water how do you wash your back etc? What about the shampoo running down your face.

Face the shower unless rinsing back of me.

Nobody in real life is trying to be porny. But if you had a camera on you and a director telling you how the scene would be shot, you would be directed to face away from the shower with your face tilted up, eyes closed, and hair back in order to make it look porny, plus as another PP mentioned, the tit shot is clearer.

The OP wondered how normal women shower, given that women in ads face away from the water. The reason for facing away in movies and ads is to provide men with a fantasy of a woman who is wet all over and available.

I’ve never in my life seen a shampoo add that’s porny or has a tit shot and have no idea what that’s all about. Most people rinse their hair facing away, otherwise you get soap in your eyes, and as witnessed by this thread and how would you shoot an advert showing someone the back of the head, and not their face.

shampoo ads tend to be aimed at their demographic thay would buy it. So hardly likely to be porny if women selling to women.

I, too, spin around like a kebab, but always clockwise. I can't turn around in the shower anti-clockwise. It's just wrong. If that happens for some reason, I have to re-start my shower sequence from beginning.

Well I'm clearly a freak as I never stand under the shower, I hold the shower head and spray myself with it.
