When I have a shower my head is always facing towards the shower

Now this is whether I am washing my hair or not. When you see a woman on TV or in a film having a shower she is always facing away from the shower. I have just watched something with a man and he was facing the shower. I know this is a first world question but how do you shower?

I turn round like a kebab 😂

Like this so both sides benefit. Especially when rinsing the back of my hair.

I expect the ads are filmed like that to show the face better.

mathanxiety · 24/05/2022 18:52

I start out facing the shower but turn a few times.

galacticpixels · 24/05/2022 18:53

Facing away from the shower. I already can't see very well without my glasses, I don't need to make it any harder...

jamapop · 24/05/2022 18:54

I face away as I face the door.. in much the same way as I can see the door from where I lie in bed etc. Obviously not expecting any axe wielding murderer to storm into the bathroom / bedroom but I don’t think I’d feel comfortable facing away..?!

mathanxiety · 24/05/2022 18:54

The ads with women's faces away from the shower usually show the woman with head raised, hair wet and off the face and eyes closed. It's a soft porny shot.

Natsku · 24/05/2022 18:58

Turn around and around, though I face away when I'm rinsing shampoo off. Then I turn the shower ice cold and stick my face under it - bliss.

ApolloandDaphne · 24/05/2022 18:59

My shower head is right above me so it makes no difference what way I face.

ZooMount · 24/05/2022 19:00

Face away so I am pointing to the door/exit so it someone sneaks in to brutally murder me I will see them coming 🤷🏼

PurpleButterflyWings · 24/05/2022 19:00

Weird that, because when I see people on TV/in films, they seem to be facing the shower. And I never understand why, as (like many others here,) I HATE facing the shower. (Mainly because I don't like the water spraying in my face.) So YABU @oldandscunnered

OneTC · 24/05/2022 19:00

Both.

Surely you move about in the shower?

RichardMarxisinnocent · 24/05/2022 19:00

BerkyWithTheGoodHair · 24/05/2022 18:35

I spin around and am facing either way at various points of my washing cycle 🤷🏽‍♀️

Me too. Surely you have to turn around at some point, otherwise how do you get all of you wet and washed?

GrannyAchingsShepherdsHut · 24/05/2022 19:02

How do you have a shower only facing one way? Do you not get cold on the other side? I also do the kebab thing...

Get in, face the water, get face and front wet.
Turn around (face away) get top of head and hair, and back wet.
Turn around (face water). Shampoo.
Turn around (f.a.). Rinse hair.
Turn around (f.w.). Conditioner.
Turn around (f.a.) and step forward (so water hitting shoulders not hair) soap front.
Turn around. (f.w.) Soap back and rinse front.
Turn around (f.a) Rinse hair and back.
Finished.

Bpdqueen · 24/05/2022 19:02

@TheDuchessOfBeddington like a kebab this made me laugh 🤣🤣

BlackAmericanoNoSugar · 24/05/2022 19:03

Also a kebab / rotator here. When I'm rinsing my hair I have my back to the shower and tilt my head backwards to catch the spray. When I'm rinsing my body I face the shower and hold the shower head in my hand.

I had one of those once but found it was a complete pain in the arse if I didn't want to wash my hair. Looked lovely though.

Same! And when I'm washing my hair I bend over and do that upside down with my head under the spray.

GreeboIsMySpiritAnimal · 24/05/2022 19:06

I can't believe there are people who never put their faces under the spray. It's so refreshing! The only thing that wakes me up most mornings. Well, that and at least two large cups of black coffee.

Haha. Me too!

pinklavendar · 24/05/2022 19:09

I do both. I'm no a bit of a shower spinarounder

oldandscunnered · 24/05/2022 19:16

Like a previous poster my shower head isn't hitting my face - it's facing my breasts/stomach. I suppose I must turn round at some point to do the bits but if I wash my hair I always get my face wet. Maybe it depends what set up your shower has but I think I've always done it this way. And, I'm in and out pronto, can't be do with long prolonged showers. Don't have a bath now but never spent long in them either. No one can afford a bath now lol.

Same

misskatamari · 24/05/2022 19:21

Twirling like a rotisserie chicken here. Depends on what I'm doing but I face both ways

XenoBitch · 24/05/2022 19:22

I face away. Can't stand water in my face. I wash my hair separately to having a shower (lean over the bath).

Mayvis · 24/05/2022 19:22

I take the shower head off and hold it to spray and wash my front down. Then put it back up to wash my back and wash my hair when I then face away from the water.
