Chocolate really should be eaten as soon as practicable. It should not have time to be chilled, or god forbid: frozen, ...the are some strange people about on this thread

Fridge every time. It warms up in your mouth and tastes delicious. Actually, it's only that my fridge is too small that stops me storing most things in it.

Google it people - chocolate should not be kept in the fridge. I have the same issue as you OP, DH is a chocolate philistine and keeps his in the fridge.

Oh and there is nothing better in the world than a melty, creamy icecream snickers that has been left in the sun for 5 or so minutes.

It should be kept in the fridge if that's how you like to eat it, surely? I mean there are weirdos that put ketchup in the fridge, because presumably they like that cold, but that's a whole other thread. Grin

If you do a weekly online shop then it's not really practical to eat the whole week's chocolate supply as soon as it arrives. Grin

And putting chocolate in a freezer 😭😓

I'll confess, I love Mars Bars in the freezer.

It gets them cold and hard and then I suck it.

I realise I maybe coming across as a bit of a weirdo.

Clevs · 21/05/2022 21:18

I like mine at room temperature and soft. My husband likes his in the fridge. I dislike it when it's cold and hard so mine stays in the jar in the cupboard.

CuriousCatfish · 21/05/2022 21:18

Chocolate should be melty and soft. It has no place in the fridge.

YesDaveItsMe · 21/05/2022 21:20

YANBU.

I've name changed for this thread as my DH brought it to my attention. He's a fridge-chocolate weirdo as well and it's all sorts of wrong.

Room temperature all the way, baby.

Singleandproud · 21/05/2022 21:21

When you keep it in the freezer you don't ear it straight away. You smash the bar on the worktop which is satisfying in itself and then suck on the chocolate until its all warmed up and melts.

Normando91 · 21/05/2022 21:22

Dairy milk fruit and nut straight out the fridge, nothing beats it!!

Yes to cold, hard Mars bars 👌🏻

Svara · 21/05/2022 21:25

Depends on the chocolate.
Milk chocolate and very sweet dark chocolate such as Lindt balls- freezer
Sweet dark chocolate (70% stuff)- fridge
Proper dark chocolate (85-100% stuff)- cupboard

mizzo · 21/05/2022 21:27

My Mum always does this. It's horrible, cold, condensationy, brittle little bits that taste of nothing Sad

EwwSprouts · 21/05/2022 21:28

Chocolate goes in the fridge in this house but we are agreed on it.

TheCanyon · 21/05/2022 21:30

Fridge chocolate should be illegal. Part of the fun is licking the melted chocolate off your fingers is it not?

I keep ketchup in the fridge because it tells you to on the bottle.

HopingForMyRainbowBaby · 21/05/2022 21:33

Chocolate at room temperature then each individual square sucked on slowly until it melts. If chocolate was destined to go in the fridge it would not be on the aisle shelves of a supermarket. And whatever daft twat decided curly wurly bars in the freezer for a good slimming world hack needs pigging shooting. Nearly cracked a tooth trying to bite that.

SatinHeart · 21/05/2022 20:26

Chocolate buttons are yum straight out of the fridge

The NON sharing bag of giant buttons I've currently got my snout in have been nowhere near a fridge that would be wrong. I'm with you op.

I've never read the ketchup instructions, but it's always lived in the cupboard and nobody likes it cold. So far so good.

Svara · 21/05/2022 21:40

The supermarket is cooler than my house in summer. I've also lived in a warmer climate where the fridge is the only option unless you want melted chocolate or can afford aircon!

Onwards22 · 21/05/2022 21:40

YANBU!
I don’t know how you’re still with him!

I know many people who also put it in the fridge and I know a women who puts it in the freezer so it takes a while to defrost when she takes it out and therefore she’ll not scoff it down.

yellowsuninthesky · 21/05/2022 21:41

ChocolateRiver · 21/05/2022 20:20

I’m with your dh! Love my chocolate hard and cold.

Same here! Sorry. I really don't like soft/melted chocolate (and don't drink hot chocolate).

pilates · 21/05/2022 21:43

Room temperature for me, fridge for DH 😳
