To think no one has ever actually sold anything on Vinted

Literally everything I have put on there never sells. Dozens of favourites, I message and say 'would you like it?' Nothing!

While I'm at it, has anyone ever ironed anything before putting it on Vinted?

The problem is sizing and quality. What I've bought for the DC is great - monsoon dresses, etc which are generally worn only once or twice and like new, but anything I've bought for myself is really worn and of a quality that I certainly wouldn't sell myself.

Calmmedownn · 22/05/2022 08:26

@HeadFairy what sizes are they? I’d take a look if you’d pm me!

ShanghaiDiva · 22/05/2022 08:39

I started selling on Vinted this month and have made £50 so far. My items are all ironed and I only sell items which are in very good condition.
I use Vinted to update my wardrobe. I bought a really nice white stuff skirt from a Red Cross charity shop and then put two skirts I bought last year on Vinted as I don’t need them now.

I've just seen a cardigan I like. It's a Primark one for £1. But by the time the postage and fees are added, it's over £4. I kinda grudge it, as the bargain factor is no longer there!

mycatisannoying · 22/05/2022 09:01

Yesterday's purchase was a branded Oodie for £20 though. It's embarrassing how excited I am for it to arrive Blush

Buy & sell loads

Price cheap, offer bundle discounts

I don’t write detailed descriptions as not worth the effort for the low prices I get, but I take detailed photos as that is no hassle.

I don’t iron specifically but all my clothes are stored hanging so not crumpled rags anyway.

I only sell sought after brands (JoJo, Boden, Joules, Frugi, Clarks or StartRite shoes for kids & Whistles, Reiss, Hush etc for adults). Supermarket clothes I don’t bother listing

lurchermummy · 22/05/2022 14:30

I've sold quite a lot - about £150 quids worth and then I've spent it all on there too!

Fireintheloft · 22/05/2022 18:45

I sell new Baby/Mini Boden clothes on there at a pretty steady rate ( no need for extra ironing as they're new)

After reading a thread on here about how easy vinted is, I have put up 4 items and the have sold, I only have an iPhone, my question is how do I print off the parcel label.

It depends on the carrier as to what you do with the label.

With Yodel I receive a barcode to be shown at drop off.
I zoom in on it and take a screenshot, then show the screenshot or email, with the screenshot being easier to zoom and adjust for the scanner

With Hermes/Evri it’s a label to be printed.
With my iPhone I’ve used wireless printers which may not like Apple AirPrint. So I use a manufacturers app for their printers.
Within the notification message or email I may be able to ‘send’ the attached label to print, but if that doesn’t work then I open and adjust the label view to full screen and screen print it. Then send the picture of the label to the printer app

If you don’t have access to a printer then that’s a disadvantage with Vinted depending on the postage options selected. You can go into your Vinted settings to disallow particular carriers - but my thoughts are that this takes away some choice from buyers as to their preferred delivery choices

Buyers may prefer pickup nearby, on the way to work, or direct home delivery

No but I'm doing a roaring trade on Ebay.

cakewitch · 22/05/2022 22:04

Never sold but the two occasions I've bought, one sent me the completely wrong item leading to a massive Ballache the other remembered two days after I'd purchased the item that they'd, in fact, sent it to the charity shop a month previously . Might not bother again eh?

Mummyongin · 24/05/2022 11:00

I’ve made around £340 since December 2021. The most I’ve had for a single item is £20, lots around £2-£6. I’ve still got some things unsold since I posted them months ago. I don’t iron generally so don’t for vinted either but I try to take good photos. I’ve bought things too and had good experiences - maybe that’s luck.

Mintyt · 05/06/2022 09:31

@HazelBite vinted all the way, thanks to this thread I have sold clothes that don't fit, don't like ect and made £65, it's very very easy

Snoopsnoggysnog · 05/06/2022 09:38

I’ve listed 6 kids items and 4 of them have sold. I only started using it 3 weeks ago. Have made £33 in total so not bad for 4 items.

oh and I’ve messaged people who have favourited and offered £1 off, that’s also worked so not sure why people are offended by this.

Bednobsbroomsticks · 05/06/2022 10:10

Have sold loads but having a lull at the moment but that's cause I don't reply to pisstakers
