Hiya all. Like many I spend far too much time on MN - and even pay £4.99 a month for premium. The replatform disaster, followed by the rubbish handling, plus the no paragraphs and increasingly bizarre deletions / moderating has given me the kick I need to take a hiatus.
Anyone else at the end of their tether?

oh the reply above mine is literally an apology and request to stay from MNHQ so now I feel a fool

Oooh spooky Confused It now seems that MN HQ can read Minds and preempt what people going to say too

😂😂😂🗣

@YetAnotherBeckyMumsnet As for our moderation - if you think we've done something bizarre or have otherwise lost the plot, we'd encourage you to let us know.

As a general point, when you delete a thread for 'breaking our Talk Guidlines' it might be helpful to name the specific breach. I was on one this morning which got deleted, but I'm none the wiser as to why - it seemed an interesting and useful discussion to me.

Flouncers' Corner.

Somewhere to hide the problems...

PrettyMaybug · 14/05/2022 13:36

So it IS just iphone then!

Goldijobsandthe3bears · 14/05/2022 13:41

Are people with premium able to comment after a thread gets 1000 posts?

MappyDappy · 14/05/2022 13:43

Must be quite difficult being you if paragraphs send you over the edge -or lack thereof.

Blurp · 14/05/2022 13:45

I work as an app developer, and I'm stunned by how bad this new version is. I couldn't post to the forums for days, paragraphs out of whack, quotes all over the place... It shouldn't even be that hard, it's not that complicated an app, and there are plenty of templates for forum-based apps out there.

One thing that does seem to have improved is that search results are now returned in date order, which is long overdue!

Pixiedust1234 · 14/05/2022 13:46

its seems to be the app thats causing paragraph problems for some users. As an experiment use a browser to see if there is any difference first.

I don't have no paragraphs and it's cutting off the end of peoples posts.

But I've been here a decade, it's too late for me. Save yourself OP

I can see your paragraphs

Theunamedcat · 14/05/2022 11:56

Technically you don't need flouncers corner as your not flouncing what we need is a grumpy bus

Id like a permanent seat please

TooManyPJs · 14/05/2022 13:49

The formatting thing and text drop offs are driving me insane. Some threads are impossible to read.

GirlCrushxxx · 14/05/2022 13:52

I agree op
And I've been here since the beginning. It's time to go
What alternatives are there to mn? Somewhere to waste a bit of time

GirlCrushxxx · 14/05/2022 13:53

What's the point in doing the right thing ( posting in flounders corner) if the entire site is wrong?

MeridasMum · 14/05/2022 13:57

savoycabbage · 14/05/2022 11:35

I've got no paragraphs either.

Me too, it's incredibly annoying and really off putting when reading long threads

It’s the weird whole screen refreshes, and getting caught out by zombie threads that’s pushing me to the edge

RaininSummer · 14/05/2022 14:26

Testing to see if I have paragraphs.

Have noticed a lot more deleted threads but otherwise no real changes.

Well are there paragraphs?

RaininSummer · 14/05/2022 14:27

Oooo lucky me

Oh that shouldn't be the case - we'll make sure deletion messages are clear.

An example of gaslighting?? The
'breaks talk guidelines" message has NEVER been explicit or explained.

You keep saying this @YetAnotherBeckyMumsnet but the last update on the page of issues is 6th May, can you not give some more definitive time line than ASAP?

I've realised in the past few days that I'm repeating myself, yes!

I'll see where things are at wrt updating known issues. Right now, I can't be more definitive than ASAP but we'll get back to you on this.

EinsteinaGogo · 14/05/2022 15:01

WallaceinAnderland · 14/05/2022 13:22

Why do you pay?

I pay because MNHQ put a pleading message out during lockdown, asking users who valued the service to consider supporting them by paying for a 'premium service'. As I did value the service provided and recognise that it MNHQ would have been hit by lockdown, I thought it was a justified request and was happy to support. I haven't been affected by spam advertising etc as the premium version doesn't have those ads so it's been worth it to me. The recent issues and general amateur way failures to a paid service have been dealt with have pushed me to (very near) the exit though.

This looks like a moderator error rather than an attempt to obfuscate. We avoid deleting threads with just that message because it's irritating for users.
