One of them says the other one leaked some stories about her on Twitter and now the second one is suing the first one. Or something like that.

Yawn.

AIBU?

She's done the Jungle and Ice thingies. There's Celebrity Big Brother and Strictly left, or some grotty celebrity quiz shows where they catch balls for money while being shouted at by people like Danny Dyer.

I think she's likely fantasising about negotiating for CBB where one of the other housemates will be another 'WAG' or former member of Girls Aloud or something hideously exploitative like that.

newnamethanks · 14/05/2022 18:13

The world is teetering on the edge of nuclear war. The world is burning where it's not drowning. We have the most dishonest and corrupt government in living memory presiding over the accumulating failures from the inept decision to Brexit and expecting congratulations for it. So, personally I'm a tad p'd off and YABVVVU. The Wagathon has given us all a chance for some light relief. Hurrah for footballers wives, their vacuous lives, the ridiculous amount of spondulicks they squander at will and their public, playground, spats. Thank you ladies.

Fairyliz · 14/05/2022 18:16

After years of Brexit, Covid and possibly WWIII this has provided some laugh out loud, light relief. It also proves the point that money can’t buy class.
I wouldn’t be surprised if Boris had encouraged RV to go ahead with the action to distract us all from government incompetence.

EmotionBot9to5 · 14/05/2022 18:19

I brought this up in the canteen at work yesterday! ha, how erudite of me.
And it was slightly heartening that all the women got that RV is the villain and only the one man who was sitting there lumped them in to the same 'two brats' category.

newnamethanks · 14/05/2022 18:29

And, @SpindleInTheWind that Davy Jones conversation was accomplished. I'm still sniggering, thank you.

I googled it and 'Ragnarok' came up, an online game about a mythological-style battle to the death.

Ragnarok in Norse mythology is the end of the world, where the god Odin dies and the heroes leave Valhalla to fight. The great wolf Fenrir is involved. And other stuff.

Compared to Rooney v Vardy, it's softplay.

PuzzledObserver · 14/05/2022 19:14

OK, I understand that people enjoy different things as entertainment. I am currently doing my best to ignore the football which DH has put on the telly.

I find it incredible that a row between two former friends has resulted in a massive court case. I don’t know anything about either of them, other than who they’re married to. I suppose I’m just wondering if I’m missing something by not following it.

He’s turned over to cycling now.

Yes @SpindleInTheWind your concept of the Davy Jones conversation was inspired and outrageously overlooked. I snorted at the last line and there isn't anyone in this house I can share it with.

devildeepbluesea · 14/05/2022 19:17

Couldn’t give a shit and haven’t heard a word.

I do wonder however, at how deeply unsavoury it all is.

Having followed the case with interest since the original "its ....RV's account' tweet I can state with some confidence that they were never friends. They were two women whose husbands occasionally played football for the same team.

As a retired psychotherapist with a keen interest in why people so often do irrational and destructive things (me included) I think you are missing a lot by not following this. It's been absolutely fascinating from the start.

MissChanandlerBong80 · 14/05/2022 20:12

It’s all the drama Mick! I just love it!

PuzzledObserver · 14/05/2022 20:22

@Everydaydayisaschoolday see, I told you I know nothing about them.

Your observation is interesting to me, though. I am also interested in why people do the things they do…. but it feels a bit unsavoury to be paying too much attention, I suppose. But I find myself getting overly invested in certain mumsnets threads, and that’s no different, really. Makes me uncomfortable, sort of voyeuristic, you know?

Some of us have better things to do with our time than follow a bitch fight between two footballers’ wives. But if that’s what entertains you, carry on.

Oh but it’s so funny when the oh-so-busy intellectuals (who somehow have time to post on Mumsnet) make snooty comments demonstrating that as they haven’t even got the most basic understanding of the English legal system.

Murdoch1949 · 14/05/2022 20:30

Personally, with time on my hands as Heard v Depp is on a hiatus, I'm gripped. But, if I had a life I would think it's ludicrous. Vardy took Rooney to court but has ended up making a total tool of herself, demonstrating what a vacuous article she is. She's disposed of a laptop after being told to keep it as evidence, her PR woman dropped her phone with crucial WhatsApp messages on it, in the North Sea. Aforementioned PR woman cannot give evidence as she's had a psychiatric episode. Vardy has called Rooney a C* and more classy nouns. Vardy has even copied Amber Heard outfits & hairstyles in court. Everything a retiree waiting for Le TdeFrance, Wimbledon & death could want, quite frankly.

noblegiraffe · 14/05/2022 20:32

The fascinating thing here is that the "villain" of the piece, the one who is being outed as having done horrible things to people is the one who brought it to court. The one who chose to do all this in public. If it's voyeuristic peering into her private whatsapp conversations etc, she's the one who paid for it to happen.

What was she thinking? Did someone not explain to her that it's only libel if it's not true?

xsquared · 14/05/2022 20:35

You care enough to start a thread on it.

Ditto to those who claim they have better things to do when they are contributing to a MN thread about it.

I think RV really should have accepted CR's offer of settlement though. She comes across as someone unable to take responsibility for her actions and determined to point the finger at someone else.

God that made me laugh Grin

newnamethanks · 14/05/2022 21:22

Frankly I will miss it when it's over. Depp and Heard is too grimly rooted in reality to be entertaining for me, I dont want to know about their lives, what little I've heard is already tmi. Whereas this is just utter fluff and a welcome distraction. It's practically a public service.

TizerorFizz · 14/05/2022 21:57

What I find interesting is that these two women could not find something more constructive to do with their time. £3m on this. The winners are the barristers.

ExcaliburBaby · 14/05/2022 21:58

I just came her to pay tribute to the absolute work of genius that is Wagnarok by Marina Hyde - whose writing I am always just in awe of!

ShopoholicIn · 14/05/2022 21:59

Mumwantingtogetitright · 14/05/2022 10:25

Yanbu to neither know nor care, but then, why would you start a thread about it if you're so uninterested?

Precisely this

DorritLittle · 14/05/2022 22:06

I am personally loving it and think you are missing out. I haven't enjoyed a trial this much since Heather McCartney threw a glass of water over Paul's lawyer.

SpindleInTheWind · 14/05/2022 22:14

Oh you mean Ragnarǫk? Sorry I had to drag myself away from Proust there for a minute.

Wishihadanalgorithm · 14/05/2022 22:19

These two women are pathetic and when I think about what is going on in the world and they are creating this huge fuss over such nonsense I get really angry.

they both live a life of privilege and for what reason? They have both married men who can kick a ball!

I do my best to avoid this ‘news’ story but unfortunately it seems to be everywhere.

Crankley · 14/05/2022 22:22

You obviously know and care enough to start a thread on the subject, whereas I know and care nothing to the extent that I don't have a clue what you're talking about.
