....to think weddings are (mostly) ridiculous now?

Or perhaps I'm overly invested in the dramatic wedding chat on here sometimes! 😁And then with the whole dragging everyone in to all the chat/decisions/drama/flouncing. It's just all so much!

The more expensive and flamboyant the wedding, the shorter the marriage. Agree or Disagree?

To everyone asking for a thread on Laura - I would but I’d worry it would end up on the DM, at which point my brother and Laura would probably slowly internally combust, and all you’d hear from them is a robot-style slow-mo voice saying “speciaaaaaal daaaaaaaay” before closing down completely.

would you believe that’s the tame version I’ve given you! And yes he’s a dick WRT his son not being there. But that’s my brother all over - he makes lots of Disney dad noises, and talks about ‘me and Laura going for custody’ because his DS was ‘skinny and pale so obviously not being fed by his mum’. There was a lot of talk, before he actually reduced contact from every weekend to EOW so that him and Laura could ‘get more time alone’. So he’s happy to tell all and sundry his (actually lovely and skinny Minnie who my nephew takes after) exW is probably neglectful, and him and Laura will swoop in to save the day…one day. But not before cutting their time with him in half 😡 He’s one of those dads

@PlasticineMeg how long before someone cracks and tells your brother that no one really cares about 'Laura's Special Day'?
Not inviting his own son is appalling behaviour. In my family my mum would definitely have had words about that!

My poor mum is beside herself with them, and also at me and my other brother expressing what a dick we think the groom brother is. She’s torn between ‘it’s their day leave them to it’ and ‘they’re probably dicks’.

I agree. Weddings are not about getting married anymore. I do wedding flowers as a hobby, and get lots of custom as it's cheaper. I have lost count of the stupid, weird ridiculous ones. Strangely, the very low budget ones are the loveliest. One groom wanted to hire s porche for the day. One bride wanted her wedding to reflect the style of her home..it's the wedding magazines, they fill people's heads with crap.

You reminded me that actually my dad drove us to the wedding venue with his Volkswagen 😂I also opted out from hiring a car and I'm glad I did, because times are tough now and money are being spent elsewhere :|
