How 'niche' or 'outing' is your job / hobby / baby name - NC here and tell us all about it!

Yet another thread where the OP has a niche role, and obviously doesnt want to say what it is with all the other stuff they have posted (understood!)

So how about you name change, tell us all about it - and lets see if you are recognised!

@Bunnyfuller it's weird, I've spent years trying to get away from that, I don't know what to call it, alter ego perhaps but it wasn't something I invented myself. It's was also an incredibly important part of my life at the time, something I know I can never go back to. There was me and then a different me that people expected me to be. It's something I equally want or need to talk about and put behind me. Very conflicting.

@Innocenta you'd expect it to be a summer sport but we trained all year round and competed in both hemispheres.

My job is fairly unusual, there's not many of us. It's the sort of job most people have never heard of though
My DD has an unusual name.

@toomanybooksonmybookcase my mum was a guardian ad litem and specialised in very complex sexual abuse cases. My very prudish great aunt knitted a range of anatomically correct dolls for her to use in interviews with some very damaged children.

I manage school admissions for a city council. It's not that niche, maybe 200 of is in England. My thread NC is what a parent said to me over a phone once when she was asking how she could get a place at the most oversubscribed school and hinted at bribes being accepted (we definitely don't!)
"So because I can't offer anything you just sit there deciding his fate".

I’m 1 of 28 people who do my job in England, one in each of my organisation’s areas. I’m the only girl. It’s not a particularly controversial job, and requires a fairly common degree subject, but when we do the annual staff satisfaction survey, I never feel that it’s very anonymous.

DSis and I both have middle names which are place names from the country where our dad grew up. Whilst hers is also a word and known (albeit unusual) girls name, mine is a lot more unusual. Last time e we checked (about1990h, Guinness World Records and the Daily Telegraph Information. Service could located no one else who’d ever been given my name, and the internet only finds me and the place.

Mine is fairly niche - there's maybe 500 in the country maximum and only a couple where I am so if you can work out from other posts where I live it would connect to me quite easily. That said I'm not too worried as I don't post things that are private
