Part 2 -AIBU to wonder why so many people assume Johnny Depp is the good guy and Amber Heard is the villain

Just thought I would start a follow on thread for anyone interested in the trial. I have kept it in AIBU so that it is easier for previous posters from Part 1 to find.
We are halfway through and have heard JD's testimony so next week we will hear from AH.

Is calling your ex wife disgusting names any worse than punching your husband and throwing a vodka bottle at him resulting in the end of his finger being cut off or shitting in his bed? Or stealing someone’s version of being sexually assaulted and using as your own? I mean they are both as bad as each other so I’m not sure why @TheKeatingFive is so fixated on one instance. It’s a complete shit show and they are both fuck ups and have done equally hideous things. They are both drug taking alcoholics with narcissistic tendencies. I’m not sure why anyone is trying to take sides.

I can’t believe anyone in their right mind can justify the behaviour of JD regardless of the medias perception of AH. He is an abusive addict, it is there in photographic and video evidence. It bears no difference what his ex wife says, what his staff say. He is a man in privilege of a great power over all of those people. The language he used about his wife is abusive, smashing glasses at her feet is abusive, if any of you have daughters and would be happy for their boyfriends to behave in that manner is jaw dropping, if they came to you and said their partner had done that would you honestly not think that was abuse? Amazing!

I've posted about lots of things relating to this case. So that's not accurate.

However his language with regards to women is just vile and as this incident shows, it can't be passed off as something only related to Heard.

also had a lavatorial streak. On 11th October 2013 he had sent a text to Stephen Deuters
which said (see file 6/119/F697.14),
‘Will you squat in front of the door of the master bedroom and leave a giant coil of
dookie so that Amber steps in it and thinks that one of the dogs, primarily Boo, has a major problem. It’ll be funny"

If she has stood on that witness box and given hideous examples of abuse that she suffered and it turns out she is lying (again) then that's a whole new level of vile, not remotely comparable with kicking cabinets and third person text messages.

I have a son and a daughter, I know which one I would be more concerned about.

They can both be arseholes but if Amber is caught out on more lies or exaggerations then she has to take a large part of the blame on the damage that has been done. The contradictions in this case have been huge and led to not only the conspiracy theories but also the turning of Depp into the hero fighting for justice. Her witnesses are going to need to be strong, not to win the trial but to convince people that she is not a liar.

Amber admitted to doing it, although she has framed it as a joke.

She isn't very believable however so maybe you don't believe her that she did it or that it was meant as a joke.

agreed, like I keep saying he is not perfect in this and whole relationship was toxic but the accusations from her, if false, which in my opinion from watching the trial are, is just another level, not only to JD which no one deserves to be accused of, it’s horrific but to all sufferers of abuse

Yes of course, but where are her medical notes, her visits to hospital. If the abuse she is saying is true then medical attention would most definitely have been required, she would have had severe internal bleeding and be in intense pain. When asked about this she said she didn’t feel any pain just hurt feelings she then popped two sleeping pills and went to bed!!

It’s just unbelievable isn’t it. These accusations in public of this extreme substance and sexual and domestic abuse. Much as it’s fascinating it’s also shocking whichever account is true. a lot of people have turned a blind eye - no one reported A to the police for his finger and none reported J for abuse, whichever way is true. So what I’m taking from it is you can pay people for their silence. Which we all know but it’s amazing to hear it so blatantly - sending people out for drugs, etc.

On another note... I was watching a clip of people outside the courthouse - mostly Johnny 'fans' screaming for him. I expected to see a crowd of teens and it wasn't. It looked like middle aged men and women. Setting aside the fact that is it a trial - since when do middle aged people scream about catching a glimpse of an actor they like through a car window...I just can't imagine caring that much about anyone!

I was raped many years ago. Drugged snd raped by a man who was a friend of a friend who was supposedly gay. I told that friend who said it absolutely couldn't be true, particularly as I'd sat in his flat afterwards (I was in shock). Years later he attempted to drug and rape a male friend. Ive only ever told that friend, one ex and my husband since (over 20 years for fear of being told km a liar again). The stuff being said on social media has completely left me struggling with this and my experience of domestic violence and I'm utterly bereft that it means that there is going to be even more victims like me who will internalise their pain for decades fear of being called a liar.

She allegedly admitted it to in a conversation with Depp's bodyguard. There is no confirmation from her that she did do this.

Even if she did, you completely ignore the point that Depp was equally as gross and disgusting.

Laaaaslalala 🌺sorry to hear you went through this. You will have incredible empathy for anyone who experiences not being believed.

@Laaaaslalala I don’t want to go into the details on here and I’m not medically qualified but I feel sure at least one of those attacks would have caused internal bleeding and the others if they happened as she described would require some form of medical attention and would be visible.
