FlipHesAnnoying · 27/04/2022 15:59

When will he stop criticising the UK (fair enough you left us (thanks!), but stop with the 'oh the USA is great and UK is crap etc...' It's annoying)

And .... Remember Harry - we are NOT ALL LOADED!!! Where are we supposed to get the money for all this therapy you think we should have? The NHS is at breaking point (have you noticed? What r you doing to help?) And we can't all afford private therapy Harry ... especially not 4 years worth!! 'my therapist spoke to your therapist..' is not a reality for most of us struggling to afford heating.

Out of touch much? Yes

Charles achieved two A levels, a B and a C. He has a degree from Cambridge because he is Prince Charles.

You’re all DM readers. Or other trash papers. But go ahead and forget about the paedophile and the tampon. And the selling of services and titles to dodgy foreigners. Just go ahead and focus on the Prince and his black American wife. And keep telling yourselves that you’re not racist and xenophobic.

I take it from this that it's a struggle for you to think about more than one thing at a time? But for me I can think of several things at once.
I honestly don't focus on his wife, whatever colour she might be, because she doesn't do much to talk about really. So why don't you just leave her alone. However as the thread is about Prince Harry, it would seem bizarre not to write about him.

CathyorClaire · 27/04/2022 21:17

Did you find him annoying before he stuck up for his American wife and moved against the British gutter press?

Yes.

Two mediocre A-levels (one purportedly achieved with staff help) as the culmination of the best education money can buy was an early indication he wasn't all that. Although TBF the royals as a composite have form for education beyond their talents.

Compound that with the later Nazi fancy dress, racist slurs against army colleagues, naked LA pool parties and the relish for blood sports and bearing in mind that's just the things the PR machine couldn't whitewash, it's quite clear the real Harry was hiding in plain sight.

As for the gutter press I don't recall any complaints when he was falsely portrayed as the happy-go-lucky heir to the people's princess. Can you?

Well she's the lightest shade of black going. In fact she's very like my mixed race DD (my DD is not black by the way, she's mixed race) same skin tone and hair.

Harry Got 2 F`s because this teacher at Eton College, cheated for him to raise his scores.

mathanxiety · 27/04/2022 21:17

Wasn't Diana supposed to have told Harry that. What a horrible thing to do whether it is true or not. I would have cut my right arm off before I said that to one of my sons.

If I were a man I personally would have cut off my right arm before I said that about one of my sons, to my wife, after she had just given birth. Or any other time for that matter.

But heyho.

IcedPurple · 27/04/2022 21:18

TheKeatingFive · 27/04/2022 21:12

Charles has a Cambridge degree, he's not stupid

He got a third. Which is practically unheard of. They couldn't fail him, so that classification told everyone all they needed to know.

Charles got a 2:2 in History, Archaeology and Anthropology.

Not great, but not a 3rd, and not 'practically unheard of' either.

mathanxiety · 27/04/2022 21:19

Nobody is bleating about Harry's academic prowess here, @IcedPurple.

And he had the good sense to marry someone who won her place in an extremely selective US university and graduate from there fair and square.

Slightly puzzled by that comment as I've not mentioned Harry's non existent "academic prowess".

mathanxiety · 27/04/2022 21:21

@IcedPurple Charles got a 2.2 because a 3rd would have been unthinkable and a 2.1 (or higher, lol) would have strained credulity, and they had to give him something to account for his time spent.

CathyorClaire · 27/04/2022 21:22

This one's about the toolish sixth in line. Plenty of threads about the others.

Feel free to go ahead and forget them.

I was simply correcting the poster who wrongly said he got a 3rd.

And while it wouldn't surprise me if Charles' grades were 'massaged', as they were for his younger son, unless you have seen his academic work from 50 years ago and possess the relevant expertise, you have no way of knownng what grade he did or did not merit.

To redirect...

Nobody is bleating about Harry's academic prowess here, @leadmeaway Several people seem to be way over invested in Charles' alleged brain power.

mathanxiety · 27/04/2022 21:24

@IcedPurple Charles' A level marks are well documented. I think we can all assume his 2.2 was complimentary in the extreme.

So I suppose it is the people just above the income level who can't afford much health care and don't get it free. The squeezed middle?

No, under the ACA there are subsidies available to help people afford coverage.

So the case that was in the papers about the young man who was no longer covered by his parents medical insurance because he had reached a certain age and died because he couldn't afford insulin was some sort of mistake? This is a link to the story but it ran in several papers www.independent.co.uk/news/world/americas/us-politics/insuluin-prices-diabetes-alec-smith-b1972475.html

Or then there are several dental charities providing free care for the poor who can't afford basic care. This is one of them but there are others. dentallifeline.org/our-volunteers/volunteer-now/

Not sure I'd have much faith in everyone getting the help they need. The NHS might not be perfect but I don't think anyone is going to die because they can't afford their insulin.

TheKeatingFive · 27/04/2022 21:34

Apologies, I thought it was a third. I remember an interview from years back where they talked to one of his tutors and it was clear they were being massively diplomatic in passing him.

Apparently the firm was told by Cambridge University that the next generation wouldn't be entertained unless they actually had the grades.

Staffy1 · 27/04/2022 21:40

@VladmirsPoutine , has it occurred to you that the reason they don’t mention colour is because that’s not the issue? That’s you projecting your thoughts on others.

ancientgran · 27/04/2022 21:40

It was unfortunate for Charles they he got sent off to school in Australia for a couple of terms, he was 17 so probably in the middle of his A levels when he was doing A levels.

During his time at Cambridge he was sent off to university in Wales for a term, I think that was to prepare him for his investiture as Prince of Wales as he had to learn Welsh.

His education was a bit mixed up.

VladmirsPoutine · 27/04/2022 21:43

@Staffy1 You must be right! I personally wish I'd done my dissertation on it because I find it fascinating.

Its not like he wouldn't have had access to the best tutors money could buy in this period, so as an explanation for less than stellar grades it would seem ... a bit of a stretch

He got quite lucky with Meghan. She is confident and determined. At least Harry won't end up being the embarrassing racist uncle at the family party, which is the way he was going before Meghan.

I’m sorry which family party do you refer to? He won’t be at his sides as he has abused and fallen out with them all and he won’t be at meghans sides parties as the park of them hate them too, so that really leaves his immediate family and he’s hardly likely to be racist at a party which comprises solely of his wife and children?

he is never going to be at any niece or Nephews party and have the chance to be racist or embarrassing, so I’m not sure of the point?

EsmaCannonball · 27/04/2022 21:59

He's trying to flog the expensive corporate therapy app that's paying him a fortune but dressing it up as being selfless and concerned.

If he took a walk through the streets of Los Angeles or San Francisco he might realise that access to mental healthcare is a class issue and nothing to do with Britain vs. America. Destigmatising therapy might get his employer's app more customers but will do bugger all for those who can't pay up.

Really? Do you think that is ideal, I can't remember any teachers suggesting that packing mine off to another continent for a couple of terms during A levels would be a good idea or that disappearing from their University for a term to learn Welsh would be of benefit if their degree wasn't Welsh language.

It makes you wonder why the govt make such a fuss about kids having a weeks holiday in term time.

TheKeatingFive · 27/04/2022 22:10

Given that you weren't in a position to bring a retinue of tutors with you, it's not exactly comparable.

BitOutOfPractice · 27/04/2022 22:13

I honestly don’t know why so many people on mn are so wound up about this. It’s so utterly irrelevant.

as for people starting threads right say so and do is out of touch…maybe have a think about the issues that really matter instead of being distracted by this meaningless tabloid fodder.
