When will he stop criticising the UK (fair enough you left us (thanks!), but stop with the 'oh the USA is great and UK is crap etc...' It's annoying)

And .... Remember Harry - we are NOT ALL LOADED!!! Where are we supposed to get the money for all this therapy you think we should have? The NHS is at breaking point (have you noticed? What r you doing to help?) And we can't all afford private therapy Harry ... especially not 4 years worth!! 'my therapist spoke to your therapist..' is not a reality for most of us struggling to afford heating.

Out of touch much? Yes

I'm 22 years old. I've fallen in love with a divorced man who is fifteen years older than me, who already has two children, the older one is twelve. We want to get married, but my family isn't very happy about it...

Because?

...because my hidebound family takes itself incredibly seriously as beacons of propriety so divorce is unthinkable, and my sister and mother are a long, long way up themselves, and they have told me that if I insist on marrying they will drop me like a hot potato from the family - they did this twenty years ago to a family member who married a divorcee so I have no doubt they would do the same to me. Also, I have been denied a useful education and I could never find a paying job, so there is no way I have any choice really.

"I have been aware that, subject to my renouncing my rights of succession, it might have been possible for me to contract a civil marriage. But, mindful of the Church's teachings that Christian marriage is indissoluble, and conscious of my duty to the Commonwealth, I have resolved to put these considerations before others."

Margaret's statement.
Clearly, the situation has been brutally spelled out to her.

Oh and fwiw, the Mountbattens threw Philip across the Queen's bows when she was a child of thirteen.

And let's hear some outrage about Charles marrying a virginal 20 year old Diana who was twelve years younger than him, apparently with the blessing of the Queen, who can't possibly have been ignorant of the vast chasm in experience that went along with the twelve year gap. Or maybe she was genuinely not aware of the string of women he had spent his adult years bedding, or his involvement with Camilla Parker Bowles, whose ancestor had been Charles' great great grandfather's mistress (one of many).
Shudder...

The hypocrisy is breathtaking.

Margaret was an adult, other royals have left/given up the place in succession for the person they love. Margaret didn't love him enough to do that which is fair enough but it was her decision.

Funny how the Queen is blamed for stopping Princess Margaret getting married and blamed for letting Charles and Di get married. She really can't win can she.

I think trying to imply that Camilla shares some sort of shame for the actions of her ancestor is pushing it a bit.

It has been well documented that Charles reaction to him when he was born was ''Oh God, it’s a boy, and he’s even got red hair,'' words which Diana never forgot.

Charles wanted a girl. He was distancing himself from Diana (and the red haired Spencers) and moving back to Camilla.

Hands on parenting? Both William and Harry were packed off to boarding school at age eight.

Eight. Barbarous.

Yes, I read the quotes. But this is from Diana's perspective and might not be how it was said at all. After all she was prepared to believe that Charles was bugging her son's watch to spy on her! Show me something that indicates that Charles did not love either of his sons.

GalactatingGoddess · 27/04/2022 20:43

I like him and Meghan 👀

I’ll never understand the hatred for someone you don’t know, will never meet and who has absolutely no effect on your life whatsoever.
It’s absurd.

And only know about from what you read in the trashy tabloids. Even more absurd. And sad.

Nor me.

MyCatIsAJerk · 27/04/2022 20:44

IcedPurple · 27/04/2022 20:38

It has been well documented that Charles reaction to him when he was born was ''Oh God, it’s a boy, and he’s even got red hair,'' words which Diana never forgot.

"Well documented"?

The only people present at the birth would have been the medical professionals, who obviously are legally obliged to retain confidentiality, and of course Charles and Diana. Since Charles is unlikely to have made such a 'disclosure', the source must be Diana, who had her reasons for portraying Charles in as negative a light as possible.

Your definition of 'well documented' is different from mine.

@IcedPurple

Agree - different from mine as well.
And different (divorced?) from reality.
But you’ll never convince them of that.

DaisyQuakeJohnson · 27/04/2022 20:45

Harry's views on the UK are irrelevant. As are his views on anything tbh. He doesn't impact you or this country so you don't need to listen to him.
It would be lovely if the media would ignore him too. I really don't think there is a demand for inanities from celebrities or people who are royal adjacent.

IcedPurple · 27/04/2022 20:46

mathanxiety · 27/04/2022 20:41

@IcedPurple Diana's mother tore rashers off him for what he said.

And what happened to 'We believe you'? Discounting the word of a woman is what used to be done back when wives were mere chattel.

What happened to it?

I've never automatically believed someone simply because they are female. Seems like a very strange thing to do.

As for "Diana's mother tore rashers off him for what he said", that seems odd as she and her daughter were not close.

But since you're interested in the legacy of 'toxic' families with horrible attitudes to women, how about the Spencers? They make the Windsors look like the Waltons.

leadmeaway · 27/04/2022 20:46

Oh dear harry this made me laugh out loud!

ancientgran · 27/04/2022 20:48

Atlanticdaisies · 27/04/2022 18:24

You must be below a certain income. It varies state to state which is one of the few flaws in the program. All services must be covered as well as all medicines. Some states waive the income for children with specific conditions including things like Down Syndrome and ASD. Basically Medicaid will pay for whatever the families private insurance does't.

So I suppose it is the people just above the income level who can't afford much health care and don't get it free. The squeezed middle?

mathanxiety · 27/04/2022 20:50

Harry is being castigated here for being 'out of touch', and I am detailing the fact that being out of touch is actually nothing new for the RF, that they have been out of touch for hundreds of years, but never more so than in this century and the last, when they have become museum curiosity-level out of touch. The only difference between Harry and William is that Harry has publicly shamed their racism.

William is apparently going to just stick to the official rulebook and hope it all gets forgotten, perhaps also keeping his fingers crossed there's some money left in the kitty after Andrew's settlement in the civil sex trafficking case is paid out.

IcedPurple · 27/04/2022 20:50

And even if Charles had initially been disappointed that it was not a girl, which would be understandable enough given that he already had a son, that doesn't mean he didn't come to love Harry. Lots of parents might prefer one gender or the other, but that doesn't mean they don't overcome their disappointment and grow to love the child. Most would quickly forget that they had ever had a preference in the first place.

mathanxiety · 27/04/2022 20:51

No, under the ACA there are subsidies available to help people afford coverage.

Tuffington · 27/04/2022 20:51

@FlipHesAnnoying I’m 100% with you OP. He is an entitled whining pr**k of the highest order and has not even the teeniest weeniest idea of the day-to-day crap that a lot of folk go through.

I suppose his intentions re mh support are relatively decent but he ruins it with his own self absorbed, privileged behaviour.

I wish he’d just bore the US with his bullshit and disappear 👍

mathanxiety · 27/04/2022 20:52

leadmeaway · 27/04/2022 20:53

@mathanxiety The only difference between Harry and William is that Harry has publicly shamed their racism.

The only racism I have seen is the recording of harry being racist to his fellow squaddies, but then a again you always seem to gloss that over and brush it to one side.

SalsaLove · 27/04/2022 21:00

You’re all DM readers. Or other trash papers. But go ahead and forget about the paedophile and the tampon. And the selling of services and titles to dodgy foreigners. Just go ahead and focus on the Prince and his black American wife. And keep telling yourselves that you’re not racist and xenophobic.

Perhaps you missed the title of the Thread...
Grrrrr Prince Harry

I even put it in bold for you, should have gone to spec savers 👓, you also sound very angry are you Megan? 😂

Ok, thanks, will do, because having an opinion on Harry has nothing to do with his black wife, and for that matter having an opinion on his black wife has nothing to do with her colour. If you immediately assume it does, you are the racist.

StoneofDestiny · 27/04/2022 17:20

in reality he is a highly entitled, arrogant, self absorbed man who has below average intelligence levels. As in he’s really a bit thick

sounds just like Philip, Charles, Andrew and Edward

Charles has a Cambridge degree, he's not stupid

LetitiaLeghorn · 27/04/2022 21:09

No, I think the difference is that Harry has been racist and William hasnt.

So does Edward.

Apparently, on hearing that his 3rd son had 'won' a place at Jesus College, Cambridge, Philip remarked 'What a friend we have in Jesus!'

VladmirsPoutine · 27/04/2022 21:12

GalactatingGoddess · 27/04/2022 20:43

I like him and Meghan 👀

The latter here is the issue. Harry would not even be receiving a fraction of this vitriol had he married Cressida Bonas (sp) or a Kate 2.0. What I enjoy most about British xenophobia which is very different to other European countries is that the Brits will say they dislike just about everything about you but it's 'N0t aBoUt ColOuR'. People think this is one of the most tolerant of european societies is because out there they'll just call you the n-word, here they'll say "ThEreZ jUsT sOmEtHiNg I d0N't LyK AbOuT HeR". I love it!!

TheKeatingFive · 27/04/2022 21:12

Charles has a Cambridge degree, he's not stupid

He got a third. Which is practically unheard of. They couldn't fail him, so that classification told everyone all they needed to know.

Bluerose77 · 27/04/2022 21:12

Agree with @Staffy1 Why is it racist to criticize Meghan. It's ridiculous. It seems the ones who presume racism are probably the racist ones for even thinking about her colour.

Wasn't Diana supposed to have told Harry that. What a horrible thing to do whether it is true or not. I would have cut my right arm off before I said that to one of my sons.
