To not feel sorry for Amber Heard even in light of evidence

I always loved Johnny Depp. Was really wanting to take his side, but the evidence being presented is making that impossible for me. But as much as I want to support women, I cannot warm to Amber Heard. is it patriarchal brainwashing? Is it that they both seem spoiled and behaving badly? Or something else?

He did not "ditch his wife of many years for a younger model". He had a short marriage which ended in 1985. I presume you are referring to Vanessa Paradis. He was never married to her but was in a relationship with her from 1998 to 2012. He did not leave her for Heard. The main factor in their breakup was their conflicting schedules. But don't let the facts get in the way.

Whether he is guilty of domestic violence or not, those texts he sent to Paul Bettany laughing and joking about murdering her, setting her on fire and shagging her corpse are utterly repulsive. For those defending him, I wonder how you'd feel if a boyfriend of your daughter was sending texts like that to his mates? I also wonder how Johnny would feel if HIS daughter's boyfriend was referring to her like that. Somehow I doubt he'd find it "hilarious" then.

I've been surprised these have been minimised by people, including women, too. They're absolutely gross and not something normal decent men say, even in private. It's how closet misogynists speak with one another. Paul Bettany seems to have escaped much judgement for it bafflingly but he's on the witness list I believe so likely to be quizzed about it.

Not 100% sure he isnt partly responsible for his worsening image. He seemed not to be hiding drug use. He left his long term partner and mother of his children for a much younger woman and married her!!! Seemed like he contributed to his own poor image, in part.

I remember him after the split with Paradis on some MTV award show playing a guitar and all the teenagers cheering. I thought he looked like a total bellend then and put it down to a mid-life crisis. Turns out that was just his personality all the time.

She calls him a f'in baby for complaining she hit him. She tells him his knife hes trying to harm himself with is too dull then tries to make it about her. She smirked at a witness, her own pa, recalling her aggressive behaviour.
She stares intently at Johnny during court but he cant look at her.
Theyve both done things wrong, but I dont believe hes ever laid a finger on her. Hes more likely to hurt himself than anyone else.

I think that they had a toxic marriage, they both acted poorly and shouldve left it at that.

well, I just read a lot of the judgement from the other case, so no.

Listen to the recordings. She admits it.

this particular case isn't about her treatment of him. Its about whether she defamed him by saying (indirectly) he abused her

but I dont believe hes ever laid a finger on her. Hes more likely to hurt himself than anyone else.

the judge in the other case came to a very different conclusion

Also AH took pictures of Johnnys cocaine use (which he has never denied) that feature more of her belongings than his, plus a tampon applicator for snorting. A sext about a bj was also presented as evidence, in which her team tried to make it seem violent when he even specifies "without injury" in it. AHs defence is so pitifully weak that its embarrassing.

The lawyers are obviously enjoying an absolute bonanza at their expense, and good luck to them, I hope they enjoy their new sports cars, boats, holiday homes etc that Depp & Heard kindly paid for.

It does appear that AH legal team are having a bit of difficulty in trying to join the dots. Nothing they have bought as evidence so far, either written, audio or visual has provided any conclusive proof that he was at any time violent towards her.

I would also agree with JD that the photo of his table was, to quote him, "an interesting composition".

It's an interesting case.

My understanding of the whole lawsuit against her is they both signed a NDA when they signed off on the divorce saying they wouldn't talk about the other. She has breached this by writing the op-ed in Washington Post therefore defamed his character. Whether its true or not she still breeched the agreement why do we need to go through all the mudslinging it just makes a mockery of the whole thing!

Well then he could sue her for breach of contract or even misuse of private information but he could only do that if he says it's true. If its untrue, then it's defamation. And the defence to that myst be "but it's true" and not "well she also hit him/she provoked him". It's only -is it mostly true that he was abusive to her. Which the uk case said was true.

She tried to ruin his life with false accusations, it cost him millions of dollars in movie contracts. So many women suffer at the hands of abusers, and it is people like her who add to those who stay quiet about it.

She is a disgusting human being who either needs to be cast aside by Hollywood, or get herself into rehab/mental facility if she can’t tell lies from the truth

I agree it's a horrible word. Gross. But people use it a lot on here and say its not that serious in in common usage where they live. I mean he throws around the f word all the time, so maybe he uses that word too. Whatever, an angry text by a foul mouth guy isn't that surprising, is it?

You aren’t even close to right…the uk ruling was about whether or not the paper had acted appropriately in their reporting…do some research.

he lost his Disney contract immediately after she claimed he was abusive, trial by social media has cost him so much.

i am genuinely surprised at how little you understand about this case and yet here you are posting about it…I bet you also get your medical advice from Facebook
