To feel disappointed we paid so much for this accommodation

We booked a month in advance and paid 220 euros a night. Photos and reviews were good; but we got a studio with 2 beds in the living room, one enclosed in a box/partition; street view and construction side next door. Not breakfast, not additional facilities, one bathroom. We are 4 people

Some of these places add an extra bed or sofa bed according the booking size. And there is a charge for this. They add them in/remove them in relation to each booking.

I think the section of the website quoted mentioned this.

Lots of central budget accommodation will let you cram more people into small rooms for an extra charge. It will be squashed but cheaper than hiring a larger room/apartment.

Plus of course, lots of places are including breakfast or whatever food, so more people do mean extra charges.

I think that’s incredible cheap for 4 people in a studio. You get what you pay for

Frazzledstar1 · 14/04/2022 18:39

It clearly states that some rooms are sea view some are not so unless you were specifically promised or paid extra for a sea view then there’s not much you can do about that aspect

Fluffmum · 14/04/2022 20:55

I love Porto. Don’t dwell on it get out and about and see the sights.

DMinChi · 15/04/2022 00:30

It quite clearly says 1 Bedroom apartment with sea view and that there are 3 beds.

I think the OP has every right to complain.

@DMinChi where does it say that?

It says some rooms have a sea view and some don’t?

I’m not sure there’s any point leaving a review if you haven’t actually read the listing in the first place. You can also quite clearly see the layout of the beds in the photos

They obviously have many apartments there as it does say sea and street views.

If you are reading that from the pictures

I noticed it was only on certain pictures. I think the pictures it wasn’t on were the studios that was booked.

It is incredibly confusing. I would definitely leave a review to warn others and I would definitely tell the owners to sort out their pictures. One thing if you have multiple 1 bed apartments that all have a separate bedroom and a sea view.
Quite another if even just 1 apartment doesn’t have a separate bedroom or a sea view.

You don’t explain what you were disappointed about? If you have an issue with the accommodation not being what you expected - photos are often dressed for effect so deceptive of what is actually on offer & reviews can be faked - take it up with the hosts there & then or via e-mail on arrival. Don’t leave a good review if you don’t get a satisfactory response to your issues but don’t be childish or rude about it as your perception of acceptable will differ to others.
dumdumduuuummmmm · 20/04/2022 22:05

Very misleading. There are so many beds shown in the images and on close inspection, it looks like the main room has been emptied and filled with just a bed. The beds all have different bedding which is clearly meant to make you think there are lots of beds. It is weird and misleading

I don't think 220 euros a night is incredibly cheap at all, far from it especially for all being squashed in and not even a separate bedroom.

SeenYourArse · 20/04/2022 22:49

if you read the description…it’s a block of apartments all of which are different and the photos are of ALL the apartments! VERY misleading I wouldn’t have a clue which I was booking either in all honesty from those pics

Easilystartled · 20/04/2022 23:58

A bed in a box without a window cannot be classed as a bedroom. It is very misleading to call a studio apartment a one bedroom apartment. I’m not surprised you’re disappointed. Still, you’re on holiday, try to have fun regardless!

Do they know there are four of you in an apartment meant for two?

There are two double beds in there - the apartment owners clearly mean this to be an apartment for four, despite not really having the room for it. I believe that is the OP's point.
