To feel disappointed we paid so much for this accommodation

We booked a month in advance and paid 220 euros a night. Photos and reviews were good; but we got a studio with 2 beds in the living room, one enclosed in a box/partition; street view and construction side next door. Not breakfast, not additional facilities, one bathroom. We are 4 people

Also I don't think 220 euros a night is that much for accommodation for a family of 4.

CharityShopChic · 13/04/2022 12:26

Reading the description this is clearly an aparthotel type place with many/several apartments. It also VERY clearly states "Some rooms offer city views and others overlook the sea".

Looking down the list of options, it's also clear that breakfast is included in some deals, not in others.

WaveParticleDuality · 13/04/2022 12:27

As far as I can see you've got exactly what you booked. There's even a photo of the living area with the bed made up. It's a serviced apartment isn't it? Did you pay for breakfast in the room or a sea view? If so and they're not providing, I would query, otherwise, you got what you paid for!

What were you expecting?

Whinge · 13/04/2022 12:27

We should have looked properly

You don't say 🙄

I can't believe you're complaining. The listing is very clear about what they're offering.

Thehop · 13/04/2022 12:27

If you booked 2 bedrooms and a sea view ring your hosts and get moved. It might be a mistake

CarrieMoonbeams · 13/04/2022 12:27

The listing does say that some apartments have city views, some have sea views.

It's disappointing I'm sure OP, but don't let it spoil your break.

Thestagshead · 13/04/2022 12:27

Op ask them if you can upgrade. If you want a spare room and a sea view and breakfast if they have availability uou can upgrade. Be aware though it’s substantially more expensive than you paid. But worth asking.

Brefugee · 13/04/2022 12:30

it is a tiny bit misleading because it isn't clear until you click the pictures which apartment it is.

It is very clear that you have to book breakfast at a charge of €15 each per day for some, and others have breakfast included.

Holidays27 · 13/04/2022 12:30

Do people think 220 euros per night is cheap? We thought we had at least one proper bedroom as it said one bedroom apartment. This is a studio for 220 euros per night a completely rip off.

We paid the same in Lisboa for an amazing 2 bedroom apartment with en-suits, 2 floors, amazing view, location, proper kitchen, terrace.

This is an aparthotel/studio with not facilities.

The photos are very professional and misleading

If you didn't look at the photos carefully, I can see why you were expecting more than you got. The description and prices make it clear there are various options and various prices.

What did you book though? The listing says "One bedroom apartment".
TimeforaGandT · 13/04/2022 12:31

The description and booking information refers to it as a one bedroom apartment and you have been given a studio so that is definitely misleading and I would be taking that up with Booking.com/the apartment owner. However, the property description says some apartments have sea views and others have street views do that’s just luck of the draw. It looks like you had to tick a box to add breakfast to your booking as an option which obviously increases the price. Did you do that? If so, your confirmation should state breakfast is included and you should receive a refund if breakfast had not been provided and you paid the extra amount for it.

TheMarmaladeYears · 13/04/2022 12:32

You seem to have got exactly what you booked . I'm also not sure how comfortable you thought it might be to squash 4 people into a 2-person apartment. I fear you've answered your own question by suggesting you might have looked properly at the time of booking. You can always try for an upgrade but I'm not sure that you've got a complaint, as such.

Tickledtrout · 13/04/2022 12:32

Yeah one bedroom apartment isn't a studio flat. Yanbu. Complain to booking.com

Runnerduck34 · 13/04/2022 12:33

It says one bedroom apartment so I would definitely expect one separate bedroom and a sofa bed in open plan living/ kitchen. It looks stylish but small. Price will also reflect that it's Easter weekend and it's location.
Photos will always show its best angle!

Octomore · 13/04/2022 12:36

Normally when you book, there is a description (e.g. 1 bed/2 bed/studio, list of facilities etc.) in the listing. If, as PP say, these things (except the construction) were all in the listing, why would you be surprised?

BlancmanegeBunny · 13/04/2022 12:36

You obviously haven't read the description properly.

Does your booking confirmation specify that your room has a sea view? If so you have a justified complaint about that.

Kitkat151 · 13/04/2022 12:36

I think you’ve got what you’ve paid for ...being Easter and all that ....but it does say one bedroom....Maybe do better research next time

cansu · 13/04/2022 12:37

If your booking says one bedroom apartment then you should have a separate bedroom. Complain. The beds being in the living space make it a studio.

Holidays27 · 13/04/2022 12:38

I have complained to the host and will definitely complain in bookings.

It is not a one bedroom apartment. It is a studio with 2 beds in the living room, one enclosed in a box

BobblyBlueJumper · 13/04/2022 12:39

If you booked a 1 bed but got a studio I would definitely complain. Photos aside, the description has to be accurate.

The breakfast stuff/ocean view - I think you have to suck that up I'm afraid.

EasterIssland · 13/04/2022 12:42

looking at the pics despite th "1 bed apartment might be misleading", the pics show that the bed is in the same place as the rest of the house

BeforeGodAndAllTheFish · 13/04/2022 12:43

Everything you've said you have is in the description and photos.

It says some apartments have sea views and other have city views. It's luck of the draw.

The photos closely show a bed in the living room and a bed behind the table with what looks like a sliding partition.

You've got what you booked.

Is it up to the same cleanliness and decor shown? Because that would really be the only thing you could complain about.

HappyMe123456 · 13/04/2022 12:46

@Holidays27

I also seem to remember seeing a swimming pool in one of the photos.

We should have looked properly but the reviews were exceptional

I think you might have accidentally booked the wrong room. It's an aparthotel with different types of rooms and on the page there are check boxes fits 2, 3, 4 or 5 people which changes the details and prices of the room being booked. There is also a checkbox for adding breakfast.

Check your email confirmation to confirm which room you booked, if the one for 2 people then options are to accept it as it or try to upgrade for a few. It your email confirmation says for 4 people then you have a case to ask for an upgrade to the room your booked or a partial refund.

SoupDragon · 13/04/2022 12:46

It clearly says "one bedroom apartment with sea view" so I'm not surprised you think that's what you booked.
