To ask for shows like Miranda

Life is difficult at the moment and Miranda has been getting me through it. Only problem is I'm running out of episodes. Is there anything like it out there?

Perhaps it's very unreasonable to think anything similar exists.

Starstruck (on BBC with Rose Matafeo) I loved this, only two series so far though.

LouLou198 · 05/04/2022 07:38

Friday night Dinner has had me crying with laughter. Derry Girls is also really good.

Gladioli23 · 05/04/2022 07:54

I definitely enjoyed Not Going Out and also Outnumbered.

Haven't watched but hear very good things about W1A and do keep meaning to watch it.

hangrylady · 05/04/2022 07:58

Friday Night Dinner is hilarious. If you wanted to go more old school, Only Fools and Horses. Also Keeping up Appearances has a slapstick element which you might like.

gingerhills · 05/04/2022 08:09

Friday Night Dinner is a brilliant suggestion. Forgot about that one even though I was rewatching it last week.

Extras and that one about Hollywood scriptwriters with Tamsin Greig are good too.

JulesJules · 05/04/2022 08:19

Upstart Crow is brilliant, we binge watched that over lockdown having missed it first time round. (David Mitchell as Shakespeare)
Just started on Ghosts, with the Horrible Histories lot, really enjoying it.
Also recommend Parks and Rec, Friday Night Dinner, Black Books.

JulesJules · 05/04/2022 08:24

Oh yes, someone else has recommended the Detectorists, it's wonderful. Definitely watch that if you haven't already.

timtam23 · 05/04/2022 08:41

Another vote for Kath & Kim
The Detectorists
The IT Crowd
Friday Night Dinner
Green Wing (with Tamsin Greig, Stephen Mangan, Mark Heap)
Getting On (Jo Brand, Vicki Pepperdine)
The Great Outdoors (Mark Heap, Ruth Jones). Only 3 episodes made. But very funny

timtam23 · 05/04/2022 08:47

Another one I forgot - The Other One. Series 2 is currently in production I have heard :)

grafittiartist · 05/04/2022 08:50

Carshare.
Gavin and Stacey

SoupDragon · 05/04/2022 08:51

Ifyou like Miranda you might like Mrs Browns Boys..

How dare you mention the utterly superb Miranda and the utterly crass Mrs Brown's Boys in the same sentence?

😱

SoupDragon · 05/04/2022 08:52

Friday Night Dinner is just wonderful.

XelaM · 05/04/2022 08:55

Modern Family
Schitt's Creek

CounsellorTroi · 05/04/2022 08:56

Another Space Force fan here. Cheers is also available to stream on All4.

XelaM · 05/04/2022 08:57

Frasier - one of the funniest and best shows of all time

Mannydelgado · 05/04/2022 08:58

Detectorists is really sweet

Modern Family

missnevermind · 05/04/2022 08:58

Some episodes of Not Going Out have Miranda as the cleaner 😁

Blondefancy · 05/04/2022 08:59

Black books!

Gowithme · 05/04/2022 09:08

Love. love Miranda. I agree with Our Country and Mandy. I like Extras as well, rewatched that recently and An Idiot Abroad. Didn't like Schitt's Creek but loved Ally McBeal when it was on. Didn't like Fleabag as just seemed very depressing (although I didn't get far with it) and Mrs Brown's Boys is awful IMO but having just watched the trailer for Motherland I want to watch that now. Going to check out some of the other suggestions too.

Gowithme · 05/04/2022 09:10

@grafittiartist

Carshare. Gavin and Stacey
Yes to both of those too. Was trying to remember the name of Carshare and couldn't seem to find it on any Ricky Jervais page.
gingerknobs · 05/04/2022 09:14

SCHITTS CREEK
GHOSTS
FRUDAY NIGHT DINNER

Will get you through any drama imho!

Cap89 · 05/04/2022 09:22

@Rodion

Not quite the same but has that air of cheerful silliness despite all the murder - Jonathan Creek.
My go to whenever I feel a bit blue. I love it. I’ve probably seen the whole thing enough to know the episodes by heart Blush
Gowithme · 05/04/2022 09:23

Ohhhh just remembered Awkwafina is Nora from Queens is brilliant.

Cap89 · 05/04/2022 09:23

But I also concur with most of the suggestions here, particularly Friday Night Dinner. Also not sure if it’s been recommended already but I love Grace and Frankie on Netflix

CounsellorTroi · 05/04/2022 09:26

The Good Place is brilliant.
