Will Smith/Chris Rock Oscars - where do you stand?

I'm a bit on the fence at the moment but shocked from watching this - wondered what others think?

YABU Will Smith had every right to wallop Chris. His wife was clearly deeply insulted. He deserved it.
YANBU Chris was just reading from a script and didn't deserve such a public assault.

They should stop doing this "roasting" shit. They are no good at it and it's just plain name calling really.
It's the Oscars. It should be a celebration.
Or they could just ditch the whole shebang. Would anyone miss it? The industry us on its arse anyway. Actors being unable to behave themselves for 3 hours is hardly an advert for it.

Yeah, I mean they shouldn't have to because people should behave themselves BUT they are truly rubbish at it as well. It isn't funny, comes across as a bit bullying and Just. Isn't. Funny.

I am not on the fence at all. I don’t need my husband acting like an idiotic angry man shouting his head off about taking “my wife’s fucking name of your god damn mouth”. Horrible behavior.
