What is this fuckery
What is the point?
If a child only has a father then surely they can wait until Mothers day and vice versa?

My mother died when I was 27 in a horrific car accident, my father died twice at the roadside but was resuscitated.
My father stepped up and was both mother and father to myself and my siblings so I would always buy him flowers and a card on mother's day.. I wish there had been a suitable card to give him. It was just for me to let him know I appreciated how difficult for him to do both jobs without mum. He's been gone 5 yrs now. When clearing his flat I found those cards, it meant so much to me that he kept them.. He tried so hard love him, I had a divorce, the death of a child and a life changing illness. He did an outstanding job..
My card was to show him I appreciated the effort.
Family structures have changed so why shouldnt greeting cards. I'm divorced and have received father's day cards especially when their father wasn't being a father.

I know a single mum who always on Father's Day expects a card from her son as she is "both parents" to him. I suppose this is just the same but the other way round.

More money to be made for the card companies I guess! Fairly sure that’s the motivation behind it.
