Mine are:
“We are pregnant” when only one of the couple is physically pregnant
and
“It is what it is”

Be Kind.

Because the huns that preach it are the least fucking kind people ever!

lollipopsandrainbows · 21/03/2022 21:07

"Yeah 100%", everything seems to be 100% lately.

At the end of the day.

muddyford · 21/03/2022 21:07

Passed, instead of died. Passed what? An exam? A turd? A signpost? A parked car?

Hippolyte · 21/03/2022 21:08

One hundred percent used for emphasis. Sometimes even upped to two hundred or a thousand percent 😫. Second use of yourself/myself in an attempt to sound official or educated 😫😫

Sunnybeaches · 21/03/2022 21:09

'I'm not going to lie" really irritates me. And "to be fair" was another that was tagged on to everything for a while - also annoying.

Katya213 · 21/03/2022 21:10

“You got this buddy”

“Hey buddy, watcha doing?”

“She/he has my back”

Kitavon · 21/03/2022 21:13

Living your best life.
Making memories.

Most of what others have posted.

Shinyandnew1 · 21/03/2022 21:17

End of.

‘So, I turned round to her and said…and she turned round to me and said…’ -I just envisage two girls spinning round having this incredibly energetic conversation!!

@Grenlei ‘the huns’ Grin my new favourite phrase!
OP posts:
netto · 21/03/2022 21:17

"in no way, shape, or form"

"Bless"

aaaagggghhhh

Susu49 · 21/03/2022 21:17

Any event or experience being described as a "journey". Often accompanied by tears or some nugget of wisdom they really shouldn't have had to go on a journey to aquire.

"Me and my bestie" cos you can't actually be close friends with someone unless you assign some juvenile, exclusionary and highly irritating bastardisation of a childhood phrase.

Itslit · 21/03/2022 21:18

@Shinyandnew1 I can’t stop laughing at that image!

berlinbabylon · 21/03/2022 21:18

The lack of the preposition "about".

Talking "to" slides or a topic, instead of "about" them.

Being excited "for" Easter, instead of about it (or even better, looking forward to it).

"reaching out"

"cheeky wine"

"jumping on a call"

Nosetickle · 21/03/2022 21:19

My favourite thing to say is ‘it is what it is’ Blush

I can’t stand the use of the name Karen as an insult, like ‘she’s such a Karen’ it really gets on my nerves.

thepeopleversuswork · 21/03/2022 21:19

@threecupsofteaminimum

Cool beans - makes me shudder.
I loathe this as well. It's always said by incredibly square people too.
Susu49 · 21/03/2022 21:20

Oh,oh, oh! And another one - "gifted" or "gifting".

Really grinds my gears.

Which, incidentally, is another phrase I can't stand.

thepeopleversuswork · 21/03/2022 21:22

"Hello you". Totally innocuous but makes me want to self-immolate.

MsTSwift · 21/03/2022 21:23

“A bite to eat” my in laws say it it’s so annoying I don’t know why

Plus all the others mentioned!

SailingNotSurfing · 21/03/2022 21:26

Sliding into my DM's - what does that even mean?

And my bad is just silly, especially when adults say it.

Lindaloo08 · 21/03/2022 21:27

"You've got this"

"Hit the ground running"

"Give you some time back" (when a work call ends early)

2kool4skool · 21/03/2022 21:28

Speak truth to power

Lived experiences

ClafoutisSurprise · 21/03/2022 21:28

“‘Twas ever thus” - used to see this on newspaper comment sections all the time. Meant to sound wise, but usually follows some hugely over simplified comment or truism. Thus is itself very pompous, which only adds to my irritation.

Grenlei · 21/03/2022 21:30

DPs dad does a variation of this whixh seems to be getting worse

and so then I said to her,
and then you know what she said to me, she said...

he's a lovely man but every conversation related by him takes about 3 times as long as the original chat Grin

Kitavon · 21/03/2022 21:34

‘Turned round and said to me’.

I asked a work colleague once if she became dizzy with all the turning.
