For me it would be a close run race between a Terry's Pyramint or an original a Secret bar...

@LakieLady I'm 54 and probably consumed my own body weight in Five Centres bars in the 1970sGrinGrin

iklboo · 19/03/2022 10:48

KL29 · 19/03/2022 10:56

BrioNotBiro · 19/03/2022 10:58

Roselilly36 · 19/03/2022 11:22

Arghhconfused · 19/03/2022 11:22

Mars delight!

MaeveKerrigan · 19/03/2022 11:40

@Imtoooldforallthis

I don't know anybody else that remembers this but Mint Cracknall, or at least that's what I think it was called.
Cadbury's Icebreaker? I loved those but at 6p, they were too expensive. Nutty. Not chocolate but they were so good.
BigHairyCoconut · 19/03/2022 11:42

@ElinoristhenewEnid

Who remembers Swisskit- chocolate coating muesli type centre Advert punchline was. Would you risk it for a Swisskit? 1960s/1970s
Yes! The avalanche!
Stormyinacoffeemug · 19/03/2022 11:46

There was a flake one a few years ago where the flake was covered in chocolate and little pieces of praline, it was lovely with a cuppa

Bingbangbongbash · 19/03/2022 11:47

Applause bar. It was delicious.

And I’m sure they did a toasted coconut boost for a while - also delicious

WowIlikereallyhateyou · 19/03/2022 11:51

@Onlyabean

Texan or a Nutty. Both sadly missed.
Absolutely, both my favourites.
Everydaydayisaschoolday · 19/03/2022 12:17

@HomeHomeInTheRange

Cabana.

Mackintoshes mallow and toffee eggs.

@nicesausages : Tiffin. They were great.

You can still buy Tiffin in Ireland.
Everydaydayisaschoolday · 19/03/2022 12:27

@ClariceQuiff

... I mean, how could these taste so vile? I promise you, they did.
The white one with chocolate piped on it was nougat and it was called Montelimar. My Aunty Olive used to save them for me and they were delicious.
DorotheaHomeAlone · 19/03/2022 12:29

Came to say Pyramint! You are 💯 correct @bobbleb

Harrysutton · 19/03/2022 12:38

Secret, Spira and Neopolitans

HalfShrunkMoreToGo · 19/03/2022 12:44

Cadbury Fuse bar. Loved loved loved it. Actually they probably shouldn't bring it back, I'd buy them all.

TheEarthIsNotFlat · 19/03/2022 12:47

I knew a Secret would come up. And it did, in the first post!! They were the best, everyone loves them so why were they discontinued?? Yet Parma violets aka most disgusting sweets in the world still live on 🤮

ClinkeyMonkey · 19/03/2022 12:49

@Imtoooldforallthis I remember Mint Cracknel! It was made completely of crunchy green mint on the inside that kind of splintered when you bit into it, rather than just the little pieces in a Cadbury's Icebreaker. I loved it. My teeth probably didn't love it so much!

Ariela · 19/03/2022 13:13

Mint Cracknell, definitely. Loved the splinters of mint

AstraMara · 19/03/2022 13:15

Spira for me too.

StrawberrySquash · 19/03/2022 13:19

@althe

Secret advert

A Fuse, a Spira and a Mars Delight please. Also that weird flat Twix they did.

Spiderysummer · 19/03/2022 13:21

Someone else remembers the toffee and mallow eggs! Nobody else remembers them. So much nice than Creme eggs. Also the mint eggs were much nicer too.
Loved Ovaltine chocolate bars and banjos as well.

Does anyone know of anything similar?

ZaZathecat · 19/03/2022 13:37

Amazin - It's amazin' what raisins can do!

nicesausages · 19/03/2022 13:49
@nicesausages sounds like a tiffin bar. You can still get them in Ireland and Holyhead port too!
Think I need to make a trip to Ireland soon then Grin
