AIBU to want to know if there is anything that ACTUALLY gives the 'false lash effect'

My eyelashes are the opposite of Marilyn Monroe. I know she got the effect from falsies, but I can't seem to get the knack of putting them on in less than 10 minutes and it feels like something is in my eyes when I wear them ...
One usually falls off halfway through the day.

I've tried an 'eyelash growth' serum but didn't notice much difference.

I tried one mascara where you first put on white fibres, then the black mascara... It stung my eyes and then my eyelashes looked grey...

I sometimes wear mascara but when I do, it usually clumps and smudges.

What have you used that magically gave you thick, long lashes?

Then I watch the next advert, get sucked in that THIS is the holy grail - but no, just another clumpy mascara.

Clarins 4D mascara.
Ive never worn false lashes. First tike I tried this a friend at work, who is queen of the false lashes, actually asked if I had mine done!
When I said no, it was a new mascara she was so shocked she bought some too and hasnt turned back since.

Maybelline’s New York mascara £6 on Amazon) is pretty amazing IMO, especially as my lashes are a bit sparse due to hypothyroidism. DD who had falsies done monthly in a salon, insisted I’d secretly had mine done and couldn’t believe it was a mascara. She uses it as well now.

Isehan Heroine Make Long & Curl Mascara Waterproof Black

My holy grail and the best mascara I’ve ever used. Add to tips of eyelashes and it looks like you have naturally long eyelashes. Also has a separate remover that looks like a comb to gently remove with out rubbing your eyes.

You can get it on Amazon but there are cheaper places if you’re not in a rush.

Most of her eye look was c/- the way her black eyeliner was applied. You would get more bang for your buck lashwise by learning some eyeliner techniques off Youtube etc, and whacking on a bog standard black mascara.

I used to love L'Oreal's Miss Manga, but I haven't been able to find it recently, so I'm using KVD Go Big Or Go Home. I'm not sure I'd describe it as my holy grail mascara, but it definitely darkens my lashes, which I think makes me think that they look longer.

Kiko Charming Escape or Benefit They're Real mascaras are great.

I actually use a cheapish one off Amazon, 4D Silk Fiberlash. It doesn't smudge at all and its buildable, have to be careful not to clump it but this is me with one eye with it on and one without

Lash serum and lash lifts have transformed my short pathetic stubby lashes.

I didn’t know hypothyroidism affected the eyelashes! That explains why mine are now short and stubby!

Try LVL(Length, Volume, Lift) - basically it’s a lash tint and lift which lasts for about 8 weeks. Mine costs about £45 and it takes about an hour. You can’t get the lashes wet for 24 hours after but then you are good to go.

If you Google LVL lashes near me you should find a salon that offers it. Just make sure the salon has good reviews - I’ve seen some bad lashes on other people where the solution is left on for too long.

As you mentioned her OP, Marilyn used a half lash on each top lid to get that winged look. Theyre way easier to apply. Then mascara & liner. She also did winged eyeliner top & bottom, extending the line out past the outer corners with a dab of white hilighter between the 2 lines. Instagram eye makeup is basically her look, updated.
