AIBU to want to know if there is anything that ACTUALLY gives the 'false lash effect'

My eyelashes are the opposite of Marilyn Monroe. I know she got the effect from falsies, but I can't seem to get the knack of putting them on in less than 10 minutes and it feels like something is in my eyes when I wear them ...
One usually falls off halfway through the day.

I've tried an 'eyelash growth' serum but didn't notice much difference.

I tried one mascara where you first put on white fibres, then the black mascara... It stung my eyes and then my eyelashes looked grey...

I sometimes wear mascara but when I do, it usually clumps and smudges.

What have you used that magically gave you thick, long lashes?

Then I watch the next advert, get sucked in that THIS is the holy grail - but no, just another clumpy mascara.

I use wowcombo as well. The first time I used it, my daughter asked if I had falsies on

I got a nice Inglot mascara that for me was the best yet. It was some kind of false lash effect but no layering etc. My lashes are short but do have a natural curl so this mascara was very good for me

@Googlecanthelpme

So you go to the salon and ask for LVL? They will know what it is?

There is only one mascara for you : benefit bad gal bang. It is amazing

@CowsAreNotGreen

The new MAC one with the mega brush is also good. But spendy.
Do you know the actual name please ?

I have the sapphire one. It's so easy, I put the magnetic liquid eyeliner on my top lash, wait a few mins and then put the lash on and it attaches well. I'm out and about all day in all weathers and they never come off, like I said I've been wearing them 6 months! Probably due a replacement soon. I've never got on with glue ones and worry extensions will ruin my eyelashes so these have been perfect Smile

Wearing them on these pics.

LVL, which I can't have as allergic but other than that extensions, if applied well damage to your lashes is minimal. I've had for two years previously and then removed and they still appeared 'normal'.

MissDynamite23 · 10/03/2022 04:29

I had an LVL lash lift and tint last week and I was a little bit disappointed with the results. She did say that next time I could go more dramatic, and that it’s like training your lashes. I think I will as I still need to add mascara for them to look great.

Imperfectp3rf3ction · 10/03/2022 05:22

Falsecara is brilliant I can't apply strip lashes to save myself but the kiss Falsecara ones are brilliant and light

Youngatheart00 · 10/03/2022 05:26

I use Lancôme hypnose drama or drama doll eyes. Always in waterproof, I find that plus an eyelash curler makes all the difference

It’s buildable so if you want a false lash look just do 3 or 4 coats. Couldn’t recommend enough!

You’ll need an oil based cleanser to remove though.

violetbunny · 10/03/2022 06:39

Eyelash growth serums work but you need to be very consistent and apply them every single day. It can take a good 6 weeks or so to notice any difference. I have short lashes and use Revitalash, my lashes are very noticeably longer.

You could also try changing your technique for applying false lashes? I found it quite difficult until I realised ideally you should wait for the glue to become tacky first before applying. You can get magnetic lashes these days as well, no glue required.

CowsAreNotGreen · 10/03/2022 07:32

@BigupPemberleyMassive MAC STACK. They do two versions, one with a smaller brush and one with a mega brush.

RandomBasic · 10/03/2022 10:28

I'm sure in 50 years this will be seen as having been as dangerous as Victorian ladies using arsenic for their complexionsGrin

@YellowAndGreenToBeSeen

I use Rapid Lash serum every night (it takes about a month to notice a difference), curl them with the Surrat curler and use any old mascara (currently the new Maybeline).

I have very long, curled upwards, lashes.

Did it affect your eye colour ? I want to try rapid lash but I’ve heard it can change the colour of your eyes, and I would hate that .
Changednamesorry · 10/03/2022 11:49

Lash loft and tint definitely. Much less damaging that false lashes and looks great

Changednamesorry · 10/03/2022 11:49

Lash LIFT sorry

stevalnamechanger · 10/03/2022 12:04

I used to use lash serum but it really irritated my eyes - however it works ! I ordered a new one from India so will give that a go.

Will be trying magnetic and LVL too :)

Decaffe · 10/03/2022 12:06

I could never put on lashes properly but then I tried 3/4 length lashes and they were a revelation!

BigupPemberleyMassive · 10/03/2022 12:55

Do you have an example of the 3/4 ones?

What's the difference in your view?

FlyLikeABird29 · 10/03/2022 22:25

I use two coats of roller lash then add a final coat of they’re real and that seems to do the trick!

HappeeInParis · 10/03/2022 22:32

Chanel Le Volume mascara

Coffeencrochet · 10/03/2022 22:43

The Revolution 5D Lash Pow Mascara is amazing, it really gives a good curl and length. The wand is quite thick so I like to use Loreal voluminous to reach the roots and for my bottom lashes.

AmandaStaveleysBlackNWhiteArmy · 10/03/2022 23:03

@BigupPemberleyMassive same! I think 3/4 length lashes mean I’m not trying to line up each end so I’m more relaxed putting them on which makes it easier. They’ve been a game changer for me although I’ve recently had extensions and loving them.

AmandaStaveleysBlackNWhiteArmy · 10/03/2022 23:04

Sorry it was @Decaffe who said about the 3/4 but I definitely agree.
