Would you pay 100k?

Would you pay 100k to be your ideal weight for life? This sounds like a dodgy diet commercial but it’s not 😂

I was just thinking how much I’d pay if a pill existed (with no side effects) that would make you automatically your ideal weight, whatever that might be, and keep you at that weight for life?

No. I would just eat less and use the £100k for something more exciting.

PotteringAlong · 26/02/2022 19:54

Assuming that you’re equating that £100k with eating and drinking whatever you want, that is.

Yes, without a doubt, I would re mortgage. It would extend my life so I'd be able to pay it back!!!

No way. Also, I think people are different weights at different times in their lives for good reason.

Leggingslife · 26/02/2022 19:54

No

CastleCrasher · 26/02/2022 19:55

No. It's not going to make me fitter, healthier or stronger but diet and exercise will

HerBigChance · 26/02/2022 19:55

No.

It would be great to be an ideal weight for life, but there are other things I'd spend £100K on (or a total of £100K). Although the end result sounds great, the value of it in itself doesn't say £100K to me.

mama3bears · 26/02/2022 19:55

Depends who decides what your ideal weight is.

HerBigChance · 26/02/2022 19:57

There's no guarantee that an ideal weight will extend life, though.

fairylightsandwaxmelts · 26/02/2022 19:57

So would you stay that weight regardless of illness, thyroid issues, diabetes, diet, disability?

GertrudePerkinsPaperyThing · 26/02/2022 19:58

No

Pen2756 · 26/02/2022 19:59

Yeah you’d stay the same weight you chose and you would choose

This is getting my hopes up now!!!
OfstedOffred · 26/02/2022 20:01

Oh sure I'll just get that 100k I happen to have lying around

OnlyFoolsnMothers · 26/02/2022 20:01

Prob not- prob max at 30k

arethereanyleftatall · 26/02/2022 20:03

Can you just clarify -

Will this pill mean I not only stay the weight I want for life (slim!) but also be healthy even if I eat pies and crisps?

BaconOmelette · 26/02/2022 20:03

Yes, if I had the money and other too priorities were sorted (home, financial security etc) then I would. But I don’t have anywhere near that many pennies and probably never will.

Lindtnotlint · 26/02/2022 20:07

God yes. Am fat and rich Grin

BigupPemberleyMassive · 26/02/2022 20:20

Depends.
Is it paying £1700 per year spread over 60 years? So a direct debit of £140 per month. Sounds doable?

Does it increase your fitness somehow? Or is it just not putting on weight?

I would probably pay £140 per month for the motivation to meal prep healthily and to exercise x4 per week. With healthy eating and exercise, that would be my ideal weight plus the benefits of exercise.

Daenerys77 · 26/02/2022 20:24

Would you maintain your ideal weight even if you ate nothing? If so, the £100K over a lifetime would probably cost less than you'd pay for food.

lljkk · 26/02/2022 20:28

I've not had weight problems... well, not since I was ~18.

I guess the question for me is.. would I pay £100k to stay very close to my current healthy weight / good BMI for rest of my life. And not have to eat weirdly (rather than 'all you can eat', I don't care about that) just not stuck with only grapefruit or tube-fed or something bizarre.

And not sure about a pill... can't I just pay the money to a nice fairy who keeps my appetite moderate?

Yes probably would pay, assuming I have at least 10 more years of life, and ideally a lot more years. It's obviously hugely beneficial to have a good BMI.

tiredanddangerous · 26/02/2022 20:29

Yes. I'm desperate to lose weight but I just can't do it.

SeasonFinale · 26/02/2022 20:30

Yes I would

pencilsdance · 26/02/2022 20:31

Yep I love food and have look fat it over weight most of my life.

NuffSaidSam · 26/02/2022 20:32

I'd pay for a pill that meant I was always just the right amount of full so never needed to eat again (but I could if I wanted to).
