Would you pay 100k?

Would you pay 100k to be your ideal weight for life? This sounds like a dodgy diet commercial but it’s not 😂

I was just thinking how much I’d pay if a pill existed (with no side effects) that would make you automatically your ideal weight, whatever that might be, and keep you at that weight for life?

No. I love food and cooking and am happy with my size (6).

Lime37 · 26/02/2022 20:36

I paid £10k for weight loss surgery. It’s the best thing I ever did. The ammount I have spent on
Weight loss over the years I would definitely do it.

SirGawain · 26/02/2022 20:38

Anyone producing such a pill would make more money selling it at £1000 to thousands of people, than a handful at £100,000.

WonderfulYou · 26/02/2022 20:42

Wouldn’t this just be weight loss surgery which does exist - stomach stapled and lipo/skin tightening would probably cost less than this.

EverydayIsPJday · 26/02/2022 20:44

Nope. I need the fat stores I have so I can save money on my horrendous energy bills for the next god knows how may winters 😂

Bushkin · 26/02/2022 20:46

Assuming I can then eat & drink whatever I want but maintain it, yes I would, without a doubt

But it's not without pain or risk of complications is it? Then there is risk of pitting weight back on and limits on what you can eat etc. We're talking a magic pill. It's quite different.
Staffy1 · 26/02/2022 20:50

No.

loveacuppa5 · 26/02/2022 20:50

I'd rather stop eating & save the 100k. 🤣🤣

doadeer · 26/02/2022 20:51

No but I would enjoy spending 100k on gorgeous spa gyms, fancy yoga studios and self care

Staffy1 · 26/02/2022 20:52

Good point. If it actually worked, they could sell it for a lot less as it would have a huge market.
TenoringBehind · 26/02/2022 20:53

Yes

AutomaticMoon · 26/02/2022 20:53

If you pay me £100K, I would get you to your goal weight and keep you there myself 😃 Heck, I’d do it for £50K, I’m feeling generous 😛

Grumpsy · 26/02/2022 20:55

I would

CharacterForming · 26/02/2022 20:59

I'm slightly overweight and likely to stay that way, so no, while I'd like to be my ideal weight (BMI 22), and I could find the money by remortgaging, I don't want it enough.

But if I were morbidly obese with the associated mobility and health issues then yes I'd do it.

worriedmum2022 · 26/02/2022 21:01

Weight loss surgery is between £8-12k depending on what you have done why £100k????

singlepringlenotbychoice · 26/02/2022 21:03

Absolutely. Without a second though, take my money.

Losing weight and staying slim is bloody hard work and only getting harder as I get older. Staying healthy would be much easier if I was my ideal weight. I already eat fairly well/balanced diet I just eat too much of it

Kumbaya12 · 26/02/2022 21:03

No,
Can't eat whatever I want because it would be unhealthy (diabetes/heart diease family history).
Weight is the least of my worries... for now anyway!

ivfbabymomma1 · 26/02/2022 21:09

I'm probably about a 8lbs off my ideal weight so no. Even if the 100k meant I could eat whatever I was a wanted and stay the same size (still no)

cuno · 26/02/2022 21:12

I don't have that kind of money, but if I did, I'd rather just eat less and exercise more to maintain a healthy weight. Unless I was a multi millionaire/billionaire I wouldn't spend 100k on this!

AutomaticMoon · 26/02/2022 21:12

I’m size 8 and I’ve gotten up to 12 after a health problem, as I was eating 3 times a day. My body is used to intermittent fasting since before it had the name and was known to be healthy, I was living in extreme poverty though and moving around a lot with friends as we lived in disused commercial buildings and eating skipped food and when I finally could afford food I went a bit overboard so put on a few extra sizes.

Then I just started eating as much as I liked, High fat/High protein/Lowish carb but only in an 8 hr period and fasting for 16 hours. This can reverse type 2 diabetes and improve health in general. Eating mainly beef (grass fed is ideal) and butter, sourdough bread (there’s fluffy rolls and many options now), sauerkraut is vital to fix gut issues or really good probiotics.

I eat vegetables but mainly in a beef stew or potatoes with steak. Plant foods have anti-nutrients and can hamper absorption minerals and vitamins. Weston Price wrote about nutrition after studying tribes and their ancestral diets, Nicola Teicholz exposed the nutritional data corruption and demonisation of saturated fat in her book, The Big Fat Surprise (fat doesn’t make you fat, high carb/sugar/vegetable oils do) but you can watch her on YouTube too.

Btw, how are your hormones? If you have a lot of stress (cortisol) that will make you more prone to keeping weight on, especially around the waist. High cortisol is associated with visceral fat. And thyroid hormones affect weight too.

AndSoFinally · 26/02/2022 21:12

Yes, if it extended to having my ideal figure (rather than just ideal weight) no matter how much I ate or how little I exercised. Definitely worth £100k to me!

Yicky · 26/02/2022 21:17

No but I am within a few pounds of my ideal weight and would just cut out crisps if I wanted to be it. I'd rather have crisps so would also rather have 100k. Even if I was chubby I would rather have a 100k. I can't imagine every paying 100k to lose weight. Surely if losing weight is that valuable to somebody they would just eat less.

Totalwasteofpaper · 26/02/2022 21:31

I actually would pay 100k… !

twilightermummy · 26/02/2022 21:38

Absolutely yes
